Favorite Beer...
I have, when I lived in N.O., thats all my friends drank, and I have to say it is definitely not for me. It is WAY to sweet, and I am not a sweet drink person.

Favorite Beer...
Mr preference depends on my purpose for drinking, meaning, if I am at a party and really want to tie one one, i will drink basic old Bud Light. However, if i am at dinner or just sitting on the deck to have a "pop" or two, it is usually Guiness.

Batter acid-Need advice quick
Thanks, I did that and it looks as though the only damage is to the surface finish.

Batter acid-Need advice quick
My battery tipped over today and eveidently battery acid spilled out in to my boat. I have a BPS pond hopper, what can i do to minimize the effects of the acid on the plastic hull.

Costa Del Mar lens
I think either the amber or vermillion will be fine for sight fishing. I have the amber ones in my Fluids and they seem to be fine. As far as glass compared to polycarbonate lenses, glass more durable from the standpoint of scratching, but also will shatter if hit hard, read, a jig flying back at you and hits the lense. Not a good thing to have glass shatting that close to your eye. Glass is also heavier than the poly lenses, so that can be a issue if wearing for long periods of time. I have never used the 580 lenses so I can't speak on their behalf, but I love the two pair of Costas that I have.

TM-front or rear mount?
It would be easy except, I have TM plug on the wires and the only plug on the boat is in the front. The wires aren't long enough to reach all the way to the front, so I would have to take the plug off and put on regular connectors to use in back, that is why I haven't tried it yet

TM-front or rear mount?
Thanks, I guess that is what I really wanted to know. If it was easier to control the boat with the TM in the front or back. I currently have it in front, so I will probably leave it there.

TM-front or rear mount?
Hey guys/gals, Is it more efficient to have the TM mounted on the front or back of the boat? I have a 9 foot BPS pond hopper and currently have the TM on the front, but wondering if it would be better mounted on the back of the boat. Eventually, I would like to get another larger one for the back as main propulsion and the smaller one on the front. Thanks.

Plastic bass boat opinions
I just bought the BPS this spring and have had it out a few times already. I have to say the only problem I have with it is the wind, but I am going to take LBH's advice and buy a small drift sock. I have the 9 foot boat and have only been out by myself, but as far as standing and fishing, I have no problems. I am 6 foot, 225, and was standing throwing a C-rig yesterday in 15mph winds with no problem. I also have an anchor that helps keep me in position if i need it.

KC Area Fishers
The fishing report in the KC Star this morning was saying the water temps were about 56 degrees, the bite should be starting to heat up pretty quick. What time do you think the bite will be going? Do you think there is much point to be there bright and early? Do you think you'd miss some good fishing by getting there around 10am? ;D Caught this young guy today... Very Cool, I am bummed out a little. I got a job offer from the YMCA and had training today from 8:30 unitl 4, so as beautiful as it is I probably won't get out today.

Do you think you'd miss some good fishing by getting there around 10am? ;D This time of year, I have always gone by the theory of later in the day is better because there is more time for the water to warm up a little more, however, with water in the mid to upper 50's I would even try some topwater earlier in the day. THe overnight low for Saturday morning is supposed to be in the upper 40's so I may head out there around 8ish, but I don't think that you will miss a super great bite early in the AM. It is not warm enough like the summer that the early bite is really good yet. The only major advantage may be getting there early to beat some other boats to the spots you want fish.

KC Area Fishers
Shawnee Mission should be getting good... 10 days ago the water was 50-51, so by this weekend it could be hitting mid 50's... I think so said you might check out SM mission a couple weekends ago, did you make it out there? No I didn't, by the time i got there, there was already 7 or 8 boats on the lake and most of them were camped out on the south side in the coves and on the points, so I didn't end up staying there.

Not sure yet, SM, Cedar, Gardner, but kicking around the idea of invading KU's little secret over at Lone Star. OOPS, sorry for letting the cat out of the bag.

float tubes
I have never fished a float tube, but I did fish out of a kick boat for 3 years, similar principal. I found the best way to get around in the kickboat and have heard for the float tubes is scuba fins. You can move around effortlessly, turn on dime and best of all super stealthy. You can pick up an inexpensive pair at Wally World and the work just as good as the ones sold at Cabelas and BPS specifically for float tubes. You mentioned marshy areas, I hope that there are no gators, as being gator bait is not a fun way to fish.

pelican boat
I dont see why you couldn't put a riser on the seat to make it a little taller. I have a 9 foot pond prowler, that I can comfortably stand in and fish without feeling the slightest bit unstable. I would love to see someone tip a pelican or pond prowler type of boat, I am not sure that is possible to tip one over, they are very stable boats. I was actually thinking of getting one of these type of seat: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SceneSevenDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=-7669&scene7Path=BassPro%2f52513%3flayer%3dcomp%26wid%3d500%26hei%3d500%26fmt%3djpeg%26qlt%3d100%2c0%26op_sharpen%3d0%26resMode%3dnorm%26op_usm%3d1.0%2c1.0%2c0.0%2c0&sourceName=images2%2f52500%2f52513.jpg&type=0&linkEnabled=false

Thermocline?????
Is is possible to have a thermocline this time of year and on the size of lake I was fishing? I went out yesterday on a small lake, about 23-30 acres that is about 30ft deep at it deepest. As soon as I would get into water deeper than 12 feet there was a solid line accrose my depth finder at about 11-12 ft. Would this be a thermocline? Water temps were about 54 degrees with air temps in the low 60's.

Line conditioning questions
I have used KVD's spray for a couple of years now, and I really like it. It does really seem to help with the managablity of the line, less memory, which helps reduce backlash. I put it on when spooling, and then once before I go out fishing, once while fishing, and then again when I get done. I think RW mentioned this one time and I started doing it as well, but put it on when the spool is full, then after you make a really long cast, put some on again so you get the conditioner on the line further down on the spool.

sunglasses accessories?
I just use a neoprene strap. It serves two purposes, one keeps me from losing my glasses in the water, and it adds a little bit of padding. Although,if they are that tight that they are causing discomfort, they may be too small. There are a couple of styles of Costas that I like, but they just don't make them in a large enough frame for my big melon. You may need to take them back and get a different frame that is better sized for you.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Does anyone have any advice on Shawnee Mission Park lake? I have fallen into a rut of always going to Kill Creek because I feel comfortable fishing it, but I would like to start to get that comfort level at some other local KC lakes. With the weather looking like it will cooperate this weekend, and the fact I have a boat now, I was thinking of giving SM park a go. Any ideas on where to start out there? I was thinking of fishing the coves on south side, mainly since I have never been able to fish in those areas with out a boat. Thanks

new spinning rod, what would you buy ?
X2 I have never fished a Loomis spinning rod, but if they are even half as good as the IMX baitcaster, you can't go wrong.

Evolution Jig
I am all for supporting the sponsors on this website, two reasons I like buying from a store though, one is I like to actually see the product in person. Sometimes colors on line look different in person. Secondly, I really hate paying for shipping on something if I can buy it retail without the shipping. I almost feel guilty buying som much from BPS when I know that if I had bought through the link on BR, some of the money comes back to the site, but with a BPS only 15 minutes from my house, I refuse to pay shipping unless I have to.

Where can you buy them, are they online only or are they sold in retail stores?
