problems w/ yo-zuri ultra soft
Sounds like a bad batch, I have the same line on my spinning rig and throw a 5/8 oz jerkbait all the time and never had that problem. By the way, I am very bad at retying, I don't do it nearly enough and still haven't had the same problem you are describing.

jig storage
Yep, that about sums it up for me too.

Carolina Rig Question
The show I think that you are refering to is the one with Edwin Evers fishing the C-rig on a power plant lake. He said he likes Floro instead of braid for C-Rigs because the braid will tend to float whereas the floro will sink, so his line is in a straight path from the rod tip to the bait. This results in better feel as well as a better hookset because he is not having to take up much slack when he sets the hook.

Pro Qualifier Reel Deal
I picked one up at the Olathe store last week, I have it paired with a BPS Crankin Stick, and I love it so far. As far as the free rod goes, it is in the corner with the other rods that I haven't found a use for yet. I got a 6' medium, I guess I could buy another reel and turn it in to a small spinnerbait rod. The PQ reel I think is pretty sweet, especially for the price. I don't throw crankbaits that much, but with this set up I am definitely going to give it more of a chance this year.

Curado CU200B for BC Newbie?
Buy it, Buy it now. It is a great reel and that is a fantastic price. I only see two small issues with what you want to use it for. As a newbie to baitcasters, you may have some problems throwing those 1/8 oz lures. It can be done, but it does take a pretty well trained thumb. The other issue you may have is something that I am experiencing now myself. The CU200B was my first "real" baitcaster and it was so easy to use that its scary, the problem is, I tried to use a Revo SX for a while and I absolutely couldn't get an handle on it, no matter what I did, it was backlashing. The point is that the CU200B is so easy to use, it may make it difficult transitioning to other reels. And like others have said, if you don't like, you will certainly be able to sell it for what it cost you, but probably more.

Costa Del Mar Tropic Star Glasses
Yeah, me too, that is why I was hoping for some input. I can't help but think that if they are as good as the Costa's I have now, you can't beat $140 for basically 3 pairs of quality glasses.

Costa Del Mar Tropic Star Glasses
Does anyone have these? I have a pair of Costa's that I love, but I want to get another pair that have interchangable lenses. What I am mostly concerned with is, do the lenses become loose after changing them several times. I had Oakleys and the lenses always seems to get loose after changing them several times. Here is a link to them on Costa's website. http://www.costadelmar.com/store/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=TS

Abu Garcia Revo?
I have a SX and I am having a very hard time getting used to it. Up till now I have used primarily Curados and the SX is so much different in my opinion. I absolutely love it but I have a question for the Revo users. I have to have the cast control knob tightened down as tight as it will go and the mag brake set to 8 or 9 otherwise I am constantly getting backlashes. I very rarely get them with my Curados, so is this me or is this reel that much more free spool than the older curados, that it is just going to take time to get used to it? Before anyone asks, it is mounted on a Loomis MBR 843 IMX rod, trying to cast a 3/8 oz jig with trailer. Now even with the cast control tightened down as far as it goes, I can still pitch that jig 30 feet without much effort, but casting it is almost an instant backlash at the beginning of the cast. Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong

Securing old seats to bracket/swivel
I should have clarified, I KNOW that i can mount the seat to my boat, what I don't know is if the COG will be too high for my fat butt and make the boat unstable. ;D

Securing old seats to bracket/swivel
No Problem.

Securing old seats to bracket/swivel
KU, I found the seats like that without the pads at the Wal Mart on 135th and Blackbob. In fact I bought one that I am going to put on my personal pontoon. They are pretty cheap, cost wise, I think I paid $11. If my experiment on my boat doesn't work, I will have one that I would sell you, along with a new swivel mount.

Bummer
I am a mortgage loan officer in an inbound call center, so my income potential is directly related to the amount of phone calls that are coming in. I know I can potentially make more money if I were to go to a straight commission job, but unfortunately, we are not in a financial position to absorb the slow months and times of year. Once my kids get in school full time and we don't have the day care expense, that is definitely the way I would look, but now it is just too uncertain, especially with the housing market and economy the way it is.

Bummer
Well my career path took a rather serious hit on Friday. I, along with all my teammates, were informed that our salaries were being cut between 25% and 30% and that our incentive structure was also being changed making it so that to make the same amount of money as before, we will all have to increase our production at least 30% just to make the same amount of money as before. It is widely believed by all involved that they think that we were overpaid and instead of laying us off or firing us they made these changes so that we would quit and they wouldn't have to pay any severance packages. I guess the years that I gave them as well as the professional experience I brought to the company didn't mean much to them, they are so concerned with the bottom line that they are willing to lose good, experienced employees in return for that. By the way, just so this doesn't sound like total sour grapes, the company I worked for has turned a profit every year for as long as I have been there. I am not saying that I was the only reason for this profit, as there are a lot of talented people responsible for that fact, what I am trying to convey is that this wasn't a situation that the company is hemoraging money and needed to rein in spending. My wife and I are considering me becoming Mr Mom and staying home with the kiddos to avoid the expense of day care, and me getting a P/T job in the evenings to help with the bills. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because I have always hated the fact that daycare got to see my oldest son grow up more than I did, now I would be able to spent time with him as well as be around while my 7 month old daughter grows up. What this will do is seriously cut into my ability to fish, but unfortunately, that is a sacrifice I am probably going to have to make for the better good. Sorry for ranting and rambling, I guess I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on, and any prayers you could throw this way would be greatly appreciated. Husker

Shoreline Fishermen, Storing your baits?
All my tackle is in a Falcon or 3700 box, and when I bank fish, I just use an old backpack from college. It will hold 2-3 boxes, some plastics, etc. I try not to take too much tackle with me, mainly because it gets heavy, but also it forces me to fish a certain way instead of switching baits every 5 minutes.

Lucky Craft/BPS
The BPS here in Olathe, wow, I like the sound of that, has BPS Rick Clunn cranks on sale for $9.95 each, unfortunately, they didn't have any of the deep diving ones.

St Croix MF
Thanks guys, I think I am still going to get the BPS crankin rod with a Shimano Citica. Now I just need to decide on a 5.0:1 or a 6.2:1 ratio.
-
St Croix MF
Yeah, I have my Loomis MBR for jigs and t-rigs, and this St Croix is now my all around rod. I was going to pick up a BPS crankin stick on Wednesday when they open the new store in Olathe, but the more I think about it, if I can get by using the St. Croix as a crankbait rod, then I can pick up a BCR Mossyback as my jig and T-rig rod and use the MBR as my all around.

adding salt to the wound?
Yep, I had the wrong model of car, my mistake.
-
adding salt to the wound?
Are they sure it was a car bomb, or did some one rear end it and it just exploded?

St Croix MF
Just curious what everyone thinks about using this rod for a small/medium crankbait rod? This one is a baitcaster, not a spinning rod

New Bass Pro Opening, What to get?
Got mine and it is already to go. I have a list about 4-5 pages long of stuff I want, now the hard part comes in limiting that to what I can afford right now. I definitely am getting a crankin rod, not sure of the reel for it yet, as well as cornicopia of lures and other stuff. I work about 5 minutes from the Olathe store, so next Wednesday, I am going straight from work to the opening at 6 PM. I am getting jittery with anticipation.

Shimano at BPS. Oh NO!!!!!!!!
Except they forgot to tell the cashiers at the KC store, they were manually entering the 25% discount for the Shimano stuff since it didn't ring up right. That is what one of the guys in fishing told me when I asked about why Shimano wasn't part of the sale. Unfortunately, I had spend my money on a Loomis rod or I would have had a couple new reels as well.

Deep Diving Cranks
Funny, so would I, of course that is because I ONLY have one deep diving crankbait so my decision process is pretty easy.

Best use for a 7' M/fast
I have this exact rod and I use it for light weight plastics, weightless plastics, but I also use it for spinnerbaits, small crankbaits and rattle traps. It was my all around rod and I say was, because I bought a Loomis this winter for jigs and t-rigs, I am buying a dedicated crankbait rod in a couple of weeks, so this rod will become my primary spinnerbait rod.
