  1. That is what caught my attention, that and the fact the BPS cranking rod was on sale for $39.
  2. On this subject, has anyone used the BPS Dave Fritts reels? I was looking at them today and they come in a 5.1:1 and a 4.7:1 ratio. They are very inexpensive and a house brand, but anyone have any info on them?
  3. Thanks, I would be ordering it off their website. And a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you as well.
  4. Cool, thanks.
  5. I have a question about the Ipods. I have a bunch of music on my computer, some that is from CD's that I purchased, some from CD's that were checked out at the library and some from Napster/Kazaa that I downloaded many years ago before the lawsuits started. Am I going to have a problem putting these music files on and then playing on an Ipod Nano? I used to have a bunch of music from the new Napster, that I downloaded while I had a monthly subscription and I know that Ipods won't work with those services so I am not going to try to move those to the Ipod.
  6. I was given a gift card to Wally World for Christmas and besides an Ipod, I really can't think of anything to get there. I saw they have the Revo series of reels online, but I am not sure if I trust getting a reel from WalMart. I have heard that even though they carry the same name, the reels produced for Walmart have lower quality components in them, I don't know this for sure, just what I have heard. So has anyone bought reels from WalMart and if so, have you had any problems with them? The price is the same as Cabelas and BPS so it is not like they are selling them for reduced prices.
  7. Thanks, I am looking at a 250GB WD that is on sale at Circuit City. Can I just drag and drop files from my C drive to the new external one, the reformat the internal drive?
  8. Does anyone have one they would recommend? I want to get one as a back up for my main internal drive as well as to store digital media to keep my internal drive cleaner. I am having some issues with my internal drive so I want to move all of my data to the external one, then do a system restore to clean it up and hopefully fix the glitches I am having. One other question, if I want to back up my data, is most if not all of it stored in my personal folder on the hard drive? I very rarely ever select a different location to store items when asked, I usually just let it be stored in the default location.
  9. Congratulations
  10. Unfortunately, you didn't kill the BM, you just fell into his trap. Now you have a super light reel that is going to need a home on a new super light rod, I am thinking Loomis IMX or GLX. So what you thought was a great deal is now going to cost you another $250-$350 to pair it up with a fantastic rod. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that is how the bait monkey works his evil little plan. :'(
  11. Makes sense, thanks for the reply
  12. I thought that the purpose of the Wild Card tournament was for anglers that hadn't already qualified for the 2007 series to get in. If that is so, how did Guy Eaker get in, his Day 1 catch was a DQ and he finished 16th, and I thought only the top 10 at the Wild Card got in the Elite Series. And what about Velvick, did he finish in the top 81 last year to auto qualify because I see he is listed for the 2007 season? Did these guys qualify via other means or am I missing something? Edited to add: I am not trying to bad mouth or single out either of these guys, they just caught my attention when looking at the list.
  13. Thanks for the info, unfortunately, I spent all my $$ last weekend there getting a new G Loomis IMX rod. :'(
  14. The Olathe store is supposed to be open in Feb. 2007. I don't know an exact date yet, but when I find out I will post it here.
  15. My only hope for actually bringing home a check is the motivation to use the $$$ to pay off some debt so I can get a new truck and boat.
  16. I am not so sure I WANT him to wake up. It would be nice to actually take home some money from the job and not spend more than I make. Better call the paramedics, because once he awakens on his own you 'll be in trouble and you don 't want a PO monkey on your back. Very good point.... now where did I put that first aid kit??

  18. I just got a call from BPS and got offered a P/T position in the fishing department, so the baitmonkey started hyperventilating and then just passed out.
  19. Currently, 12# Seagur Floro, but experimenting with 50# Suffix Performance Braid.
  20. Sounds good. That IMX that I bought was my first real high end rod and I agree, now I want to replace them all.
  21. Pssshhhh .... Me too!!!! ;) Did you get a chance to take that new St Croix out this weekend? I did some "casting" on Saturday on the way home and the amount of sensitivity in that Loomis is just unbelievable compared to the Quantum that I had been fishing jigs on.
  22. Exactly, I have caught a couple on a jig, but most have been pitching to cover, nothing really fishing structure. My wife ain't gonna like it but I guess I need to spend more time on the water. Hey I didn't ask you on Saturday, but we need to hook up sometime next year. I am no expert, but I think I could show you a few things fishing deeper structure with jigs out at Lone Star. That bite really starts to pick up around mid June, but your more than welcome to come along anytime. Around mid to late March I usually start going about every weekend or whenever the water hits around 55. I am usually flying solo about 75% of the time so the front seat of "The Beast" (my two man boat ) is all yours. Also I think I recall you catching a PB of 3 something out at Kill Creek earlier this year??? .... well I am 100% positive that with in a few trips you could improve on that. Sound good to me, I would definitely appreciate any tips or advice.
