Crankbait reel Suggestions-I know here we go again
Unfortunately, due to my full time job and my wife's schedules, I was not able to keep that job. Not to mention my son was not taking me not being home at night very well. He kept asking his mom when daddy would be home and making comments like, daddy is never home anymore. That in and of itself was enough to make me reconsider working a 2nd job, money is not so important that I was willing to miss out on time with my kids.

If I can find one on Ebay, that would be my first choice

Crankbait reel Suggestions-I know here we go again
I am definitely keeping an eye on the flea market. The problem is, I don't need it right now, but the water's to hard to fish right now, so the next best thing is spending $$$ on fishing stuff.

Crankbait reel Suggestions-I know here we go again
yeah, I saw that but I am barely coordinated enough to use a left handed spinning reel when I need to, it is actually a very funny scene watching me use it left handed. :-[

Crankbait reel Suggestions-I know here we go again
I know this has been covered numerous times, but everytime I try to do a search my computer locks up so that is why I am asking again. I am going to start throwing crankbaits more this summer and I plan on getting a BPS crankin stick, mainly for the price, and I was going to get a David Fritts crankin reel as well. I know that there are a lot of people who use BPS rods and reels with no problems, but then there are a lot who have had numerous problems as well, so I have about $140 to spend on a reel that will be used strictly for crankbaits, most shallow and medium, but occasionally deep divers as well, so I was going to get a 5.2:1 ratio reel. Any suggestions for "name brand" reels that fit the price range and the ratio guidelines? I really don't have the ability to "spend a little more" to get a better reel, I have a shopping list a mile long that I am going to use for equipment and gear when the new BPS opens in a couple weeks, so the money I have is pretty well spoken for.

Strike King 3X Worms!
I love the Zulu's and the lizards, but have not been a big fan of the worms.

LA CYGNE question
Thanks guys, I can't go this weekend but I may make the trip down there next weekend, either that or I am going to get kicked out of Cabelas for fishing their fish tanks.

LA CYGNE question
Yeah, that was an a$$ whoopin in every aspect. :-[ Ring Fry, is there any access to the warm water discharge area to fish from the bank. I have a small personal pontoon boat, but with the air temps in the teens, I really don't want to have to get it out.

LA CYGNE question
Thanks Ringfry

LA CYGNE question
I have a question about lakes with power plants, mainly La Cygne, because that is the closest to me, but where is the discharge area in relation to the power plant itself? I keep seeing fishing reports that bass are biting on this and that near the discharge area. I know it is because of the water temp being much warmer than the rest of the lake, and spring fever is killing me and if I can drive an 45 minutes and do some fishing, to me it would be well worth it.

Loomis CBR 845?
He is an Ebay seller that has an Ebay store. Just go to Ebay, click on the link for Ebay stores and do a search for FatFishFarmer. He has great deals and from his feedback as well as from the members of this site, he is very reputible (sp). I haven't bought from him, only because our local Cabelas had a sale and I was able to get the rod I wanted for basically the same price, but I didn't have to worry about shipping or anything like that.

It's 6:00 and .........
I feel your pain, I have spring fever so bad it is driving my wife nuts. Every night I am on BPS website making and changing my shopping list for when the store in Olathe opens. I am even debating taking that day off of work and spending all day there. I drove by Shawnee Mission Lake today and there is a small patch of open water that is accessible from the shore, I might have to take a rod to work tomorrow and go casting at lunch.

What's your worm/jig rod?
Yeah, I have it paired up with a Shimano Citica 100 and the only thing bad about it is now I want 3 or 4 more. My old Curados and St Croix Premiers feel like bricks compared to this rod.

What's your worm/jig rod?
As of yesterday, mine is a G Loomis MBR 843 IMX.
-
got me a loomis yeah!!!
Very nice rod, I bought a 783 IMX before Christmas for jigs and t rigged worms, but took it back yesterday and got th 843 IMX instead. I really like the 783, but decided that a little longer rod for jig fishing would be better.

Shimano Posse
Will be 2 yrs in April. Current line up is 2 Curado Cu200, 1 Citica 100DSV, and a Sedona spinning reel that hasn't been used in about a year. There are a couple more Citica 100s in my future, and possibly a Chronarch.

PREDICT your '06 Hawg - REVISITED
Considering, until 2006, my PB was about a pound, the 3 pounder this summer by far was a new PB. Now onto 2007 where I am shooting for my first 5+.

Creek company pontoon for ponds
Ditto, except I can't speak for how easy it comes apart because I never take mine apart. I have a depth finder, rod rack and raised seat mounted to mine and other than the wind, I haven't had any problems with it.

Question for the Shimano Posse
LBH, Thanks I can't believe how balanced and light the overall rig feels. It makes my other rigs feel really heavy and bulky. Regarding the clear brakes, do you have to special order them or what? The brakes that came installed are pink as well, so I have an extra set of pink and a set of green. I really don't think I need the clear ones but just incase I want some down the line.
-
Question for the Shimano Posse
So the green ones will have a greater braking ability than the pink ones? I guess I will stick with the pink ones since my other curados have those and I am used to that.
-
Question for the Shimano Posse
That didn't take long. I am adding another combo myself. :-/ : ;D Yeah, I had a Cabelas gift card burning a hole in my pocket and when they got the 100 series in, I just couldn't pass it up for the price and the weight. I still have some BPS credit so I am waiting until I start work there to get a crankbait set up.

Question for the Shimano Posse
I just bought a Citica 100 today to put on my Loomis MBR783, and when I opened the box, there was oil, a wrench, and then there was a bag of replacement brakes. My question is some were red and some were green, is there any difference in them, other than the color?

Fluoro LINE vs LEADER??
I had the same question a few months back, and if I remember correctly from the answer that I was given, the difference is stiffness. The leader material is much stiffer than the line is, even though they are the same # test. I don't know for sure if this is true, but given the difference in price and quantity, if I use a leader I just use the fishing line version, not the leader material.

Crankin' Reels
Yeah, I got some of those as well, but I actually start work at BPS in January, so I think I am going to try to wait until then and maybe use an employee discount to buy them. Probably won't be doing much crankbait fishing in Kansas before then anyway.

I killed the bait monkey
This is exactly what I was thinking. The Bait Monkey is the spawn of the Terminator, he can't be killed.
