  1. I dont know about the pond, but I dont think eutrophication is what you think it is J-FOWL. I mean this in no offense to your knowledge of lakes but I was taught in school that eutrophication happens when there is too many weeds in a lake and not enough water flow. It isnt a condition that goes away but rather it happens to a lake. Fertilizers will get in the lake and the weeds will have an increased growth rate so there are tons of weeds. The weeds in the lake will then die and go to the bottom and decay and the dead weeds and such will fill in the bottom of the lake. You were correct about the Dissolved O2 concentration, it does go down but I cant quite remember what causes that. I think its all the bacteria in the lake breaking down the decaying plant matter.
  2. I'd try to find a nice farm pond, I know I have lol
  3. You silly SOB, you just made me drop my key board off my lap. LMAO! I remember when i was showed that like 8 months ago, i d**n near had a heart attack. If it's what I think it is, I saw it two or three years ago. I know better! One almost heart attack every few years is enough. LMAO! I can't believe you all feel for that. I watched it scare a few people in high school and have recognized the link ever since. lol anything from winterrowd is bad
  4. Thats fun to watch though! they absolutely kill those things! I really don't mind losing a frog if they kill it pretty good lol
  5. lol good luck. Thats their home lake, try going to shades beach or walnut creek has been producing great the past few years!
  6. Well its kinda hard, if it happens with structure or cover present usually the bass will be there. If they aren't then you should know within 30-45 minutes like Catt said. But it doesn't happen all the time, but it can. It's almost an iffy thing
  7. It could be from infected lips if the bass were caught earlier? I have no clue I might go look it up later.... But that does sound disturbing, I've never caught a bass that looked like that. I know bass can get grubs in their flesh if they live in a weedy pond in the summer and that fish that have black specks on them are diseased but i've never heard anything about their lips. Oh and I heard black patches are on fish that live near a sewage outflow
  8. X2 I have no clue where the banana thing started but i check non boaters lunch boxes before they get in my rig and if they hae a banana they either have to eat it before we launch or they have to leave it in their truck til after we get back lol. I know it may seem a little harsh but bananas are the worst luck, and I'm unlucky as it is

    Welcome!
  10. 24-18 ft of water. drag a green pumpkin tube with a 1/4-3/8 ounce jighead. Thats about all you need to know for erie
  11. I think its because the tube jig spirals on the way down and it has a different movement all together. Maybe it captures a pikes interest better lol, or maybe they just don't like wieghts in the front of their snacks ;D
  12. I'm gonna say carp ;D. still a great fight though!
  13. lol sorry no picture my g.f already deleted it.
  14. no, i really don't think any club does that unless its for a fundraiser. If you want to fish the tournaments its 20 dollars to join the club and another 15 i think for tournaments. They have meetings at the visitor center of Keystone state park at 6:30 every 1st wednesday of the month. I'm pretty sure they don't have a website
  15. lol senkos are expensive enough when used for bass
  16. nice, they look alot like the freshwater sheepshead. I wonder why they're more slender? Do they taste good?
  17. i'd say a pound and a half, theres a pond near me that i catch crappies that size this time of year when i'm fishing for bass. They sure do love jerkbaits. I wish i had the picture to post but its on my g.f's phone. I'll get her to text it to my email and see if i can't get it up tommorrow to see if the last one I caught is about the same size
  18. Next... balsa wood crankbaits ;D
  19. when the wind is like that again try throwing your dropshot out there and drifting in your boat. Dragging your rig across the bottom just bumping it every now and again. Its a very subtle approach that may get your finicky fish to hit.
  20. no bananas in my boat... ever
  21. lol yeah they do, last one i caught took me five minutes to real in. And thats why i use a baitcaster and 14 lb fouro for my lucky crafts lol. With $15 on the line (literally) I don't mess around
  22. I started the loyalhanna jr bassmasters out of keystone state park. They fish 6 club tournaments a year and the jr state classic i believe. But yeah if you want to fish just go to a club meeting they'll tell you their tourny schedule. But my club is hurtin for members and if you come your almost guarunteed 1st place
  23. I understand that and thats why it is kind of nice to live in MN. We got many months with ice and cant wait to get out on the lake. How does that make any connection to what theTr20one said?
  24. X2. Thanks Kozak . I guess I was being a little complicated. You said it perfectly. nicely put! I agree
