It would be better if you went sooner. This is a cooling lake and the warm arm will be pretty hot by then. Keep in mind they have a 25HP limit on the lake. Stay in the cooler arms and you may do quite well.

Have you tried casting one. I would think a frog might weight about 5/16 oz. Might not be a problem as long as you let the bass have the bait before you set the hook.

Is the line braking at the knot (Palomar?)? Also what size braid are you using? I use 30-50 lb braid and have not experienced breaking and I use the heck out of Megastrike.

I have had great difficulty getting a uni knot to hold with Crystal, just too slick I think. Knots Hold about 50% of the time.

You might want to consider the 35 Supreme at $ 99.00. It is a bit lighter. The Sahara is alos a good reel. I can not speak for the President.

I have had some luck with a X-Rap in 42-48 degree water. I would give that a try. Hold a bit between jerks they still will not be very active at that temperature.
