Pinnacle
I own some of the Pinnacle Matrix reels, the first ones they put out with 10 bearings......they are solid reels and silky smooth. I also have a Deadbolt Pro DBP10 low profile that is a very good reel. I dont have any problem with Pinnacle reels.

To Tell or Not To Tell
Dock talk can definitely cloud your judgement. At the dock, everybody you talk to was catching fish and mostly all on different lures and in totally different areas. I have heard that about Tak too and a few others on Tour also but "dock talk" is different than physically taking someone out and revealing your spots. If KVD took Tak to an awesome underwater hump that was loaded with 5 pounders,Tak cant tell me that he'd avoid that spot the entire tournament. I'd guarantee if he went by the spot and KVD was nowhere in sight,Tak would be sittin' right on top of it.

Spool-Filling mystery.....
If you spool your reels on a rod and the spool is coming in on the right of your tip,it will load heavy to that side....same for the left side. Whenever I see it loading heavy to one side,I just switch the rod position to the other side.

well..........I DID IT
Sounds like you're having a great 2007 so far....glad to hear about your boat!

To Tell or Not To Tell
Please keep in mind that giving someone a guided tour of all your brushpiles and sharing info on an internet site is TOTALLY different. And about fishing dead water with someone in the boat......I dont do that. I still fish productive areas but I wont give up much pertinent info about it...such as the big rock on the bottom, the isolated stump on the side of a point etc.... And I dont say anything when we just happen to "accidentally" float over one of MY brushpiles either.

G Blank Rods
I wasnt trying to imply that but it may look like I was. I have to use the lightest rods possible because of elbow problems,so a rod being lightweight is a plus for me. And I still think the G-Blanks are great rods for the money.

To Tell or Not To Tell
I will take others to my proven spots if they are not boat owners! ;D There are just some spots that dont need to be broadcast. I am one that sinks brushpiles every year and I just dont want people sitting on them when I want to fish 'em. Plus,I did all the work to attract those bass to that certain spot....not the other guy. It's like I'm the one that studied for the test and someone who didnt study wants to copy my paper. Aint happenin'. I hate to be like that sometimes but I learned the hard way and it wont happen again.

Drawbacks of EWG hooks?
I use a straight shank whenever I can. On the bulkier baits I'll use an EWG.......an Owner EWG that is.

G Blank Rods
First off, welcome to the forums! We're glad you stopped by. I own several G-Blanks and I really like them. Although I have never actually fished a GLX, I have held them quite a few times. The G-Blanks are every bit as light and some of the G Blanks are even lighter than the GLX rods. I bought a Kistler Helium 7'6" XH Flippin rod and also a G-Blank 7'6" Flippin' rod and the G-Blank is in fact lighter than the Helium according to a digital scale. If you're looking for an extremely light, sensitive and good quality rod at a not so inflated price, the G-Blanks are a great choice.

Has this joke been posted here before?
A woman goes into Wal-Mart to buy a rod and reel. She doesn't know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the register. There is a Wal-Mart associate standing there with dark shades on. She says, "Excuse me, Sir ... can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?" He says, "Ma'am, I'm blind, but if you will drop it on the counter I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound that it makes." She didn't believe him but dropped it on the counter anyway. He said, "That's a 6' graphite rod with a Zebco 202 reel and 10 lb. test line. It's a good all around rod and reel, and it's $20.00." She says, "It is amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I think it's what I'm looking for, so I'll take it." He walks behind the counter to the register, she bends down to get her purse and farts. At first she is embarrassed but then realizes that there is no way he could tell it was her. Being blind, he wouldn't know that she was the only person around. He rings up the sale and says, "That will be $25.50." She says, "But didn't you say it was $20.00?" He says, "Yes ma'am, the rod and reel is $20.00, the duck call is $3.00, and the catfish stink bait is $2.50. Thank you for shopping WalMart."

The marvelous Chatterbait?
I caught a pile of fish with the Chatterbait last year....too bad none were over 4#. I found that it's an excellent springtime bait (along with everything else in your tackle box) and also works well at night. Seems to lack the big fish appeal, but thats probably just where I fish. In a tournament last year I caught probably 15 keepers with the chatterbait but the biggest 4 of those was 15"......switched to alternating a spinnerbait and a jig and immediately started catching bigger fish. Eventually culled every fish I had caught with the chatterbait.

Revo SC?
If its got the 6-pin brake,I would think it would have to have the S model spool. The SX spool is most likely a little different design for the mag brake. Looks to me like its just an S model painted a different color. I'm just speculating though,I have no hard evidence on any of that.

JUst a Suggestion.....

The Colts are killin' me......
Good question.....if the Colts win, they might just give Caldwell the MVP trophy. Last week Caldwell played like he was dipped in glue....he caught everything near him. So did Gaffney. I'm glad the Colts decided to cover him tonight.

Best Deep Cranks
Ronnie, yes the Poe's 400's are great cranks. They deflect well and float up fast like a good deep crank should. I just get deeper with the DT16's and DD22's,thats why I prefer them over the Poe's. Whenever I find fish in 10-13 ft of water,I will throw that 400 and in my opinion, they are great cranks for the money. My only knock against the Poe's cranks is they need to get some different paint schemes....the basic colored baits (shad, chartreuse) are decent but the others are way behind the times.
