  1. Way to go man, thats a good 'un!
  2. I wonder how the action would be affected by a steel leader? Just wondering because thats what I would use if I ever paid $50 for a lure.
  3. Jim, as you know they were a Limited Edition type deal. I have searched and searched and asked and asked but I guess alot of people just missed the boat on the V Rods altogether since it was such a short run. The only thing I know is that the V Rods were made by G Loomis for Shimano to put their name on and they evolved into the Shimano Crucial series. The different letters in the model # is actually referring to the taper of the particular blank, along with length and power. (ex. VCT610MH)......I think thats the one you got coming your way. Its a fast taper. They are excellent quality rods, well built, well balanced and really light......not as light as a Helium LTA but not many rods are.
  4. In my opinion, the DD22 is probably the best deep crank on the market as far as catching fish goes. There are better deep cranks as far as paint jobs, hardware and durability, but for simply putting fish in the boat.....the DD22 is by far my favorite. Once summer hits and the fish go deep, they really like that wide wobbling 22 bouncing around.....at least where I'm at. The DT16 and the LC CBD20 both have a tighter wiggle.
  5. I have all my brakes set at just under half and have no problems from the STX or the SX,unless of course I smack my lure against the trolling motor while casting.....then we have issues. I cant speak on the new Curado's....havent used one. I did use the old green ones for a little while and the Revo's do seem to be a little more "free". I think once you practice with it, it will come around for you.
  6. If Jed's fish takes over the new WR spot.....which WR bass will be more believable? Jed's or Perry's? If I were a "serious" Cali WR hunter,I'd probably have a whole case of certified scales,3 or 4 video cameras set up around the boat,a dozen or so certified tape measures, all the pertinent documents and a couple of people riding around with me just to verify things in case something happened. That way it would be a cut and dried WORLD RECORD BASS and all the haters and skeptics wouldnt have anything to talk about or question.
  7. I own 8 Revo's now. 3-STX...2-SX...3-S I really cant decide which one is the best deal because I dont think you can go wrong with any of them really....it basically all depends on how much money you have to spend and how many reels you need. I have enough confidence in my S models to fish them just as hard and just as often as the SX's and STX's I have. In my opinion, whichever model you choose wont be a bad choice.
  8. I use the XPS straight shank round bend hooks and dont have any complaints about them, but they are the only XPS brand hooks that I have used so far.
  9. Are you still stuck on the Pittsburgh Classic? ;D
  10. For what it's worth,I like the stenciled letters better.

Hughes can pummel Serra one handed but he'll be fighting GSP again.....and he better come out fighting this time or GSP will just kick him in the head again, like he did last time. Hughes is no joke...but neither is GSP. Hughes took him lightly that last fight and GSP dropped the hammer on him. I was in total shock when he flattened Hughes with that head kick in their last fight. Couldnt believe it. Any idea who Couture will fight next? Could be Cro Cop in the near future..... that could be bad for Randy.

Matt Hughes did a great job on Lytle....he didnt finish him off but he dominated and controlled him on the mat for all 3 rounds. Randy did a great job man-handling Sylvia and he beat him in the standup too. Sylvia had the nerve to say in the post fight interview that he came into the fight with an injury and thought it wouldnt affect his performance but that it obviously did. Give me a break.

  14. Please be careful when entering your BPS store.....if you feel that someone is following you or you hear some heavy breathing, dont bother turning around to look.....just run out of the store as fast as you can. If you browse around the store too long, the baitmonkey will eventually overtake you and your wallet and you'll end up buying way too much stuff and spending money that you really dont have.....trust me,it will happen!

Randy Couture DOMINATED Tim Sylvia and took the Heavyweight title from him. What a fight....Randy knocked Sylvia down with his first punch but the fight ended up going the distance. Sylvia couldnt do anything with Couture.....total domination. Matt Hughes won his fight and so did Rich Franklin. Hughes will fight the winner of St.Pierre/Serra and Franklin's next fight will be the rematch with Anderson Silva who took his belt a few months ago.
  16. Anything over 50 I'm crankin' either a flat side crank or a trap. I did notice that during the Classic coverage that one of the guys was catching fish in 52 water with a trap and the fish were really close to the bank. May have been KVD,cant remember exactly who it was. On a river,I'll crank at any temp above 40.

Good job man.....and that Revo is sweet aint it?
  18. I would rather catch on an artficial bait.....just seems like more of a challenge to me. Plus, someone has to keep all the tackle companies above water!
  19. Fish needs to get back with BASS and head up all the weigh-ins again.....they have not been the same since he left.
  20. Is that the big decision you pondered over for a while? Sounds like you made a great choice. Its about like my schedule.....I work 5:30a - 2p M-F ......sure feels good to roll out at 2 and head to the lake. Once the time changes we'll really be in business.
  21. I prefer a horizontal 60 degree or even a little less when I can find them. I feel like a 60 degree doesnt blow the fishes mouth open like a 90 degree does with the line tie being straight up and down and in the way.....and the 60 seems to hug the bottom easier than the 90 when dragging. 60 degree all the way for me.
  22. I'm a switcher too. I have tried twice now to convert to LH reels but its just not happenin'. If you are interested in trying the LH reel route,I suggest you buy something used or borrow one from your buddy before you go dumping a load of cash on something brand new that you may not ever get used to. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  23. I just returned home from DSG and noticed that they have gone up on their prices on all their plastics.(Yum,PowerBait,ZOOM,etc....) On the other hand,I bought the display model Revo SX which was just put out on Tuesday for $120....I aint mad at 'em
  24. That all seems very interesting to say the least.....sounds to me like the Captain got the shaft.
