  1. Here is a link to a thread on Pinnacle reels and there is a link to another within the first one. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1170711131 May help a little.
  2. Thats a decent little article but none of that is concrete evidence.....just something to ponder at best. A person still has to decide which, of the countless "studies" to believe. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing the article.
  3. avid, I think you're on to something......
  4. Your dad sounds like a role model to me!! Ronnie He's a heck of a fisherman and I'll probably trim down my arsenal one day, just like he did.....and if I did it now,I probably wouldnt miss 80% of the stuff I have. I bet dad doesnt spend $60 bucks a year on fishing tackle......I spend more than that in one week, pretty much every week. I dont tell dad though! ;D
  5. Being a crankbait guy,I'll probably use a total of 30 different cranks this year. I'll use probably 10 different plastic baits. Maybe 8 different jigs. 3 different spinnerbaits. 4 different topwaters. 8 different jerkbaits. 2 buzzbaits. This thread reminds me of my dad. I remember growing up,he owned 3 or 4 huge tackle boxes stuffed to the hilt with this and that. Now when I take him out,he's got what looks like a mini-tackle box with just a few different things and he catches his share of bass with what he's got in that little box. He only uses one plastic worm (Culprit) in 2 different colors, about 5 old Bomber cranks,a few black and/or brown jigs and a couple of topwater baits.
  6. Would it help if it had some fancy Japanese name or if you could put a Japanese replacement handle on it? Maybe take away 4 or 5 bearings? Would that help? ;D ;D

    Right on avid !!
  8. With water in the low 40's and after a cold front,I'd probably have a jig and a jerkbait tied on and I'd be fishing points.
  9. This is a previous thread about Pinnacle reels.... http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1169771121
  10. So are you saying that Shimano has never had any bad reels? What am I thinking....this is RW....thats exactly what he's saying! ;D

  12. Excellent job guys!
  13. That was a very weak UFC PPV.....just got home and am a little disappointed that I pitched in my hard earned cash for that one. There were several things that happened tonight that shocked me. 1. Cote staggered Scott Smith, then laid off him, giving him time to recover. Cote could have easily ended it right then. 2. Travis Lutter didnt make weight, lost the title shot, then had full mount on Silva but couldnt finish and eventually got caught in a triangle choke and tapped out. 3. The UFC paired up Cro Cop with Eddie Sanchez. Come on! Eddie Sanchez? 4. Jorge Rivera lasted a total of 14 seconds before being knocked out....he's tougher than that. Good news is.....UFC 68 is only a month away. That fight card will make up for this one. They have Matt Hughes,Rich Franklin and Randy Couture coming out of retirement to take the HW title from Tim Sylvia!!

Welcome!! We're glad to have you and hope you enjoy yourself here.
  15. In my opinion......If you dont throw a senko, chances are, you're not catching all the bass you could.
  16. Couture vs. Sylvia is March 3rd

avid, I use a suspending crank (usually a shad rap rs) just like a jerkbait anytime I am near laydowns. It is a very effective technique around brush. I will also use them out on points if the fish seem to be suspending and staying deep and not coming up for the jerkbaits that are only 3'-4' down. The suspending crank allows me to get closer to their strike zone and stay in it longer.....and i work it just like a jerkbait.

If I'm not mistaken,a&m baits is owned by the father of the guy that owns ***. LBH?
  19. WORD UP! ;D
  20. Other than being hard to deal with sometimes,I really like the 3X baits. A little pricey but if you're looking for something that floats well, those get the job done.
  21. I agree with flech. I recently sold a bunch of my Pfluegers and now own 3 of the Revo S models and 3 of the STX models. I am really impressed with both of them. The S models are well worth $99 bucks. Fivebasslimit, which braking system do you like better?. Is it worth 50 or 100 dollars more to get the magnetic brakes?. I like and recommend both. If you are looking to throw light lures,I'd buy the STX. If thats not a real priority,I'd buy the S model. Once you get the brake set like you want it,you should be good to go. RW.....I see you're still workin' on that Shimano sponsorship. It'll come,be patient.
  22. .....someone left the door open and RW walked right thru it! ;D Thats a good question Chris. I need to find out about the Charlotte store.
  23. You might try Boat Trader Online....I've bought my last 3 bass boats there.
