Craw & Fivebasslimit together again
Yeah, Craw had the bass cornered again this time and we went straight to 'em.....the first 20 minutes of the trip I didnt have much time to do anything but take pictures of him and some fish. ;D By the time I got the camera turned off, back in the case and put away, I would hear another "THERE'S ONE" ! and I'd have to repeat the whole process all over again! Craw had the bite going strong then they turned off the water and it dropped what seemed like 3 feet and the bite just died at that point. Nonetheless, we had a great time despite freezin' to death all day!! At least we weren't at work! Thanks again Craw....I enjoyed it!

What makes a Senko a Senko
LBH, I agree with what you say about the catch rates between the Yam's and the knock-offs. I used to think there was a big difference until I started using Brent's sticks alot. The action may be just a little different and the Yam's texture may be slightly different but the catch rates dont seem to differ at all.....and thats what counts, right? The texture of the Yamamoto's is the biggest difference and it's most likely the main reason that his baits tear up so fast......but I am convinced that there are other sticks out there that catch just as many,if not more fish,at a much cheaper price.

If you want to feel a fish swim by or breathe on your bait......take your $200 bucks, put it in a sock, save up $29 more and get yourself a Kistler Helium LTA.

What makes a Senko a Senko
The texture of the bait is what sets it apart from all of the others.

your post spawn rewards
Catt is right....back off the bank and fish a little deeper. The smaller males will still be shallow guarding the beds but the females will move off into deeper water after they make their deposit. I really like a jig during post spawn as well as crankbaits......then after the spawn is done and the recuperation period is over ITS TOPWATER TIME!!!

another swimbait Toad
Thats a good 'un doghouse! So you actually caught it on a Mattlures "sit-bait" ;D....I'm real impressed with those ML bluegills, if for nothing else, putting the fish into attack mode. I gotta get a couple of them quick....fish here will be spawning REAL SOON.

When a Bass Jumps .........
I understand what you are saying with the rope around the hand thing but that is something totally different as your jig is not around the fishes head like a noose......or is it? ;D On a jig bite I tend to set the hook as hard as I can and when the fish starts coming up,I keep the rod real low.....not necessarily "in the water low" but near it and I keep a tight line at all times. One other thing I do if I have time is to turn the fishes head if I see it rising up to jump.....that helps sometimes but you have to have the time to react (which is not always possible) and be quick about it. Another thing to consider is the type of jig you are using. If it is a recurring problem with one certain type, try a different head style or maybe a jig with a bigger hook. I feel the most solid hookups are when the hook goes all the way thru and out the other side.....maybe your jig is blowing the fishes mouth open and you are hooking alot in the roof of the mouth. I'm just throwing scenarios for you to think about. And dont forget.....sometimes they just get off no matter what you do or what you use. That is exactly why they jump - to shake the hook! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
