  1. I agree with flech. I recently sold a bunch of my Pfluegers and now own 3 of the Revo S models and 3 of the STX models. I am really impressed with both of them. The S models are well worth $99 bucks.
  2. There is tons of good information about obtaining sponsors in the Articles section of this website. Also, there are some good threads going in the Fishing Resume forum. Here's a link to an article http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/bass_sponsorships.html and here's one from the Resume' forum http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1155497797 By the way, welcome to the forum! Enjoy!!
  3. Good going man....Gaston rocks! I love that lake!
  4. I'm going to Fork after all!! Cant wait!
  5. You had me thinkin' I was color blind there at first....had to get a second opinion from the wife. ;D P.S. I'm paying good money for one of those Rapala hats if anyone has a connection.
  6. Orange? I think they turn a little orange after a bit of fading.....if you look at all the other pics, you can see its clearly red. Doesnt matter either way,I still would like to find one.
  7. I saw some Yo Zuri jerkbaits today that had the soft body for like $10 bucks. Havent seen the Pointers you're talking about yet.
  8. Alpster has some good advice......just let it go a little sooner. Or maybe try to cast sidearm some now that you've mastered underhanded casting, then move to the overhand last.

I dont think any other scented baits can touch Powerbait.
  10. Speaking of hats that cant be found....I've been looking for one of these for a long time. http://www.rapala.com/images/wallpapers/wallpapers_lrg/Pro_Staff/DavidFritts_Pro_1.jpg I guess it must be an exclusive for the Pro Staffers, since it does have Pro Staff on it. DUH!! I would like to have one though....anybody got a connection?

Atta boy avid ! Some good fish and decent pics too!
  12. Tennessee huh? I could probably deal with that one.
  13. SWEET BOAT !!!!! The color scheme is awesome! Makes me want to buy another Ranger.....
  14. Do they even have a football team?
  15. If I was even to let you step on my boat with a UVa hat on,when it gets blown off, dont expect me to turn around to go get it. Just ask my buddy Joe,he used to have 4 UVa caps, now he's only got 2. ;D
  16. With all of the info thats out on bass fishing, all the conflicting theories, the websites.....all of that info,is at best, speculation based on tendencies. There seems to be no hard facts except that a bass swims and eats. If a bass could talk, what would you ask it?
  17. I've noticed in my home lake that the largemouth like to spawn either under a small branch of brush, beside a log,or short stump or beside a rock etc....that obstruction helps keep the predators off the bed and makes it easier to guard, thus creating that comfort zone. Of course there are the exceptions that will spawn out in the open with nothing around. I've also witnessed smallmouth spawning right on top of slate (flat) rocks as long as there is just a little bit of silt on the rock that they can fan away to make a bed.
  18. Yes sir.....too bad they had a disappointing season this past year and then they gave it up in the Bowl game. I'm hoping next year will be better.
  19. After I witnessed the huge smallmouth spawning 6' down,I started to wonder about how much effect the sun really has on the eggs. But on the other hand, the largemouth really like to be in the direct light and for the most part, very shallow. I guess we'll know the precise answer once we can get a bass to talk.
  20. Obviously the bright sun heats up the shallower water better and will heat the bed, therefore warming the eggs to enable hatching. I feel like both are very important to a successful spawn. I've seen largemouth spawning so shallow that their back fins are out of the water like sharks and I've also seen smallmouth spawning at 6' - 7' deep in crystal clear water.
  21. You got that right. Even when the fishing is super tough, you gotta catch at least one, even if its the smallest keeper in the lake. Good call Glenn. I have a fear of something bad happening to my son and me not being around when it happens to help him.
  22. That's the same pic that was in Bassmaster last year.....and some believe that its not even Perry in the photo.
  23. If you can find any huge fish on beds,I'd like to see some video of that.....and some video of running down the lake looking in all directions, that will give me a sense of being there. Thats a good idea too,KU.
  24. Its finally turned cold here too.....and the winter will probably drag on until April, like usual. Seems the seasons are off now,it used to get cold in late November but for the past 3-4 years it hasnt got cold until late January and the winter just drags on and on. I think the earths rotation is off or something.
