  1. We should all get a personal photo of it if one of them do. Make that an autographed personal photo with one of the scales off the beast stuck to it.
  2. I use these http://www.davesttackle.com/jigs/index.php .....just click on what type you are interested in,then you can view all the different colors on each head style.
  3. I would guess Cali also in the next year or two.I'm hoping that either Fish-Chris,Mattlures or Capt Cali will bring home the prize!Get-r-done fellas!
  4. I have set brushpiles in 25' and in the hot summer they usually hold the fish.Any deeper than that, someone else can have 'em.
  5. I prefer the Rad Lures brand because they thump the hardest but if you're going on "looks" I like the Booyah Boogie bait best.(say that 5 times real fast)
  6. Well,ya know FC......the UFC threads are in the appropriate forum and none of those have gone off topic.Just trying to get the train back on track. Peace, 5
  7. Craw, that was a 14+ limit, not a 14+ bass! LOL! The final winning weight was 36-04 over 3 days.Same guy led wire to wire and won a Chevrolet truck and a Ranger Boat!Second place had just over 31 and 3rd place only had 23+ over the 3 days.During the 3 day tournament, only 7 total five bass limits were caught. The fishing is definitely tough right now.I did see a bunch of the BASS Northern Tour guys out today pre-fishing.Their tournament is on Smith Mtn this coming weekend. Most were pitchin jigs to docks.David Dudley is the pre-tournament favorite.Come on down and we'll go to the weigh-ins.
  8. Those mini-me's are deadly. I like the smaller profile spinnerbaits in the fall because they "match the hatch" better than the regular size 3/8 oz.
  9. I agree with you George.....I've seen plenty of bass schooled up in my lifetime.More smallmouth than largemouth but still they both school up.
  10. Not trying to rain on everyone's picnic here but lets keep this ON TOPIC.
  11. Well,I dont really know what happened yesterday because FLW Outdoors hasnt updated their site with Day 2 results YET. : I'm going to the final weigh-in today to see what happened. It was real windy and cold yesterday, the wind may have helped them down there,it usually helps me at Smith. My guess is that the best baits are a crank and a jig......possibly a spinnerbait when the wind is blowing.
  12. I can't really believe this, but I think we may have another one folks. Above you state your digital Camera took a crap because it got wet. Yesterday you said that your sister took your digitial camera to college. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1161307454 ......very interesting!
  13. How many people on here dont even bother posting a report of fish caught without having pics to back it up?I know there are lots that do post w/out pics,I'm just wondering how many people actually feel the need to back up there stories with pics or just not post anything?I'm one of those people who will not post any type of big fish report or story without a pic.Dont really know why,I guess its just an internet thing.....without proof, there will be skeptics.
  14. As I found out this past Sunday on Smith Mtn,the fish are not doing much and they didnt do much today either. The BFL Regional tournament kicked off today and most of the field had a tough day.Of the 147 anglers in it,there were only 5 limits caught today with the biggest one weighing 14+.Leader has 3+ pounds on second place. Here's a few more stats. Anglers weighing in 4 fish = 8 Anglers weighing in 3 fish = 19 Anglers weighing in 2 fish = 35 Anglers weighing in 1 fish = 37 Anglers weighing in 0 fish = 43 The fall frenzy hasnt started yet but it should be happening anytime. The B.A.S.S. Northern Tour will be here next weekend,it could be tough for them too.
  15. 1966 Chevelle SS......a true muscle car
  16. I chose mine because thats what I'm after when I hit the water.
  17. I have owned 2 GT150's in the past and both were good to me.I ran 'em harder than I probably should have but both still ran fine when I sold them. The last Ranger I sold had a GT150 and I still see it on the lake every now and then and the guy hasnt had any issues with it yet........and he bought it from me 4 years ago. That GT150 is one of the more popular motors running around my home lake......lots of them still on the water.
  18. I'd love to talk some NFL trash with you guys but I cant,I'm a Raiders fan. :-[
  19. I booked a room earlier tonight for the wife and myself....as of 5:30 pm (eastern time) there were only 3 rooms left!I bet those wont last thru the weekend.
  20. Well then,it looks like another semester is in your future.
  21. Who's going to police the boards while we're out playing? :-? That should be interesting. ;D
  22. I just ran it by the wife.......looks like I'll be loading up the Tahoe and pulling the Gambler to Texas! It's on boys!
  23. Did you also hear that you are supposed to be able to fold a newspaper and put it under your arm and not let it drop out when you cast? That was a training method from WAY BACK.

During the summer to fall transition I will start at the mouth of a major creek that is a little off-colored.I'll fish there an hour, then move to the mid-creek section for an hour, then to the back of the creek for an hour. Last time I went out the fish were around the mouth and just into the creek.I boated 2 pretty quick, then went a good little while with no bites,so I moved to the mid-creek section.....no bites and nothing pushing the shad around.Went back to the mouth after an hour and noticed the shad were closer to the bank than they were earlier so I pounded the laydowns with my spinnerbait. It paid off.The bass had moved into the brush waiting to ambush any shad coming by.I caught several bass in about a 45 minute window by fishing the laydowns and making as much contact with the wood as I could......anytime my spinnerbait hit wood,I killed it and let it flutter down.Thats when I got the bites. During fall transition with fluctuating temps you really have to be patient and stick it out.....it's a very slow time interrupted by short-lived feeding frenzy's.Once the transition completes, the fishing gets easier. If you stick it out long enough to catch a few when it's slow, you'll know exactly where they are and what to do when they do go on the feeding binge.
