BACK ON TOPIC: Did anyone else notice the look on Kriet's face as he exited the stage? Man, I feel for the guy....and was hoping he'd break through and win it.

KVD has done it again!
Bassnajr, I understand your frustration but, seriously? We're not talking movies here....you had to know/expect for someone to post a KVD thread on a bass fishing website.

Beeswax Creek
Yes, BASS takes the fish to various areas and releases them. Beeswax is a very popular torunament launch site from what everyone is saying....so if it's believed that bass stay in an area for extended periods, Beeswax could've had a high concentration of fish there from previous weeks tournaments.

Beeswax Creek
I'm not sure what the deal was about it being a flat or what not, I was just speaking of tournament areas in general. Was Kriet not in Beeswax all 3 days? I thought Faircloth was too but I dont know, I wasnt there.

Does dominance help the sport?
KVD doesn't even win half the tournaments in one Elite schedule year. If he did, I'd call it dominance. I will say that he's the most consistent angler on the Tour. It seems he's IN CONTENTION in every tournament. That says a lot, sure enough, but not dominant. Consistent. He consistently makes better decisions than everybody else. He consistently makes less mistakes than everybody else. He consistently puts himself in contention. Dont get me wrong. If I had to lay $100 on 1 angler in each tournament, it would be KVD. But at the end of the year, I'd be several hundred in the hole. If he was dominant, I'd be up a couple hundred.

Beeswax Creek
I dont agree with fishing around marinas and known tournament launches. There's people on both sides of the argument. I have a very good friend in my club. He rarely leaves the launch area(s) and routinely weighs in limits. Personally, I think it takes away from the 'game' and even infringes on the sportsmanship aspect a little bit. That said, the bottom line is catching fish. If the tournament directors leave the area open to fishing....what can you say? Granted, they still have to get the fish to bite and get them in the boat but if you've got a higher concentration of bass in this one area, they are easier to find and your chances are instantly better than someone leaving the area. I get it...but I dont agree with it.

Deep water crankin
Floating cranks deflect and then float up away from the cover. Suspending baits just stay there where they can get hung easily. The floaters draw more strikes with their deflection characteristics. Period.

classic news????
All business = boring. Boring means not good TV. Not good TV means no sponsors. No sponsors = no Elite Series. These guys all have personalities. Chumming it up for the camera for 20 seconds isn't going to make or break their day. If it did they wouldn't do it. I'm glad to see a little comedy and glad to hear some commentary from these guys. If they were all business, all the time, I know I wouldn't watch it.

Beeswax Creek
This should be done at any tournament, no matter how big or small. I know thats not possible but even a small 4hr tournament with 40 boats can put 200 bass back in one cove. I do however remember catching a bass from under a dock on a Sunday, weighing him in and catching the fish again under the same dock on Tuesday night. He traveled a LONG way in 2 days.

Beeswax Creek
It's probably quite common in the Elite Series. Those guys are under immense pressure to bring fish to the scales. I know on my home lake, some guys never go further than a 1/4 mile from the most prominent tournament/launch areas and they usually do quite well.

best crankbaits for pre-spawn ledge fishing?
I'd probably throw a trap type bait first but the water is a good temp so a tight wiggle bait matched to the water depth is probably the answer. (I'd still throw the trap first though)
