  1. " that would be our Nitro line. Its a bigger, wider, faster boat, just so happens to be priced $4K less than the Tracker your looking at." Heard that yesterday, still dont like the Nitro
  2. 16 and wanting to fish tournaments? I would go as a no boater and learn from the older guys. its cheaper and you get a lot more benefit from it. That 2000 that you want to save will need to be used to fix a car from a wreck, breakdown, or college. The wreck will happen, and I hope its a small nothing one, but 90% of the 16 year olds out there hit something within the first two years of driving. And if you wreck you car, what will you use to pull that nice new boat with?
  3. Yeah, but that same guy "found" the boat floating somewhere. It wasnt his to give. And the defense of "i didnt know" will not work. Ignorance is NEVER a defense to an asst DA. He will argue that you knowingly accepted possession of an item that you knew had to have legal documention for. You not asking for legal documentaion that is REQUIRED by law is an admission that you "knew" the item was stolen or illegally obtained. Your emotionally attached to this thing and not thinking rationally about it. The likelyhood of the real owner pressing charges is pretty remote, as is your chances of registering it. This is no different than me giving you a truck that I was driving that I "found" out in the woods. Its still not legally mine, so I cant legally give it to you. Proceed with caution, be prepared to be smacked by the nutjobs at the courthouse, maybe get ready to pay the real owner (and I bet he will want more than you think it was worth when you got it) and dont do this again.

  5. 4.36 on a chart. spinnerbait in 46 Deg water around 1:30pm. Thats my best LM. It actually saved my tournament finish. However, I did catch a 10lb goose recently on a red eye shad, in mid air, in 80 deg weather. A dog scared up a gagle right when I was casting for a dock, and the bait hit a goose mid-takeoff. Never did get that bait back. 8-)
  6. A comic named Mickey Dean once said, " I dont write comedy, I just watch people and report what I see."
  7. Walmart has a system for a cooler that is about $30. It uses a bilge pump to pump in, out, and aireate. You simply dunk the pump in the lake and hold the hose in the cooler to fill, hose out to pump out, and hook the hose to the PVC tube to aireate. That plus the ice should be perfect.
  8. Everyone will make a mistake or three. Even the guys in the Elite Series will screw up. But these people act like they "know" what they are doing and dont accept help, or they feel that they are entitled to all the time at the ramp that they want. how many times have you seen someone launch, then pull their boat to the courtesy dock , still blocking the ramp, and wait for the fam to get in. :-/
  9. I watched a guy Sat that was putting in his big 454 powered RED boat who didnt know what he was doing. He backed down the ramp, boat didnt float. He kept backing down, no float. All this time, his teenage daughter is pulling on the bow line trying pull this massive boat off the trailer. With the suburban almost halfway in the water, it dawns on him that he didnt remove the transom straps. So he gets out of the truck, swims to the back and undoes the straps. The boat at this point is not floating like he likes, so he dives under to see whats going on, realizes that does not have the plug in. He swims back to the truck, pulls up, plug in, and finally launches the thing. I could get a cooler of beer and a beach chair and sit on the dock all day watching these people.
  10. 3M makes a spray adhesive (super 77 and 90) that you can get from Lowes that works great. They also make an adhesive remover (6040)in an aerosol form. 8-)
  11. and your toilet paper should be over and not under as well. everyone knows this
  12. Swap the strap to an overhead pull position rather than under (think toilet paper roll being over or under), and run it over the rubber guide. That should enable you to pull the eye over the guide. Worked for me.
  13. I got to fish Guntersville for the second time a few weeks ago. It is by far the prettiest lake I've ever fished. Add to that, the fact that you can catch monsters there, and its just about perfect. What a great place to introduce kids to our sport!
  14. Google ARCO marine. That is where i found mine. The tilt trim motors are expensive.
  15. Cheap Wide 100, so no real weight. I just want to be able to see it from the front deck a little better. Its on the console now. Its just a great idea that I have never seen. Thats why these forums exist!
  16. If its that adjustable, then I think its a great idea. That may be the way I go rather than purchasing another one for the front deck.
  17. Looks good! It seems that your depth finder would get in the way though. Is is collapsable, moveable...
  18. I used Rustoleum, granted it was on my glass boat. Stuck nice in places where I prepped properly. Its been on there over a year with monthly use. I camo'd the thing so it would be easy to touch up.
  19. If its just an issue with having too much of your trucks backend in the water (you mentioned having the front in 4") lift the truck. I usually walk the trailer tongue to load mine by myself. Because of that, I used a grip tread tape from 3M on the tongue. Keeps me from falling in. You could try a smaller trailer tire as well, or better yet, you and I can swap boats and I will live the problem
