  2. That is great. I really like 1,2, and 9.
  3. That thing looks sweet. Check out the video of it in action.
  4. My grandad told me a simple strategy to keep in mind "give him what he takes and take what he gives." Make sure you keep pressure on the fish at all times. If he runs, let off and let your drag do the work. If he eases up or comes to you, take in all the line you can. If he jumps, keep your rod low with the tip near or in the water. If you are in a boat, manouver around known obstacles that can prevent you from landing the bass (i.e. grass, pads, timber). If you are on land, walk around obstacles if you can. Check your gear before you fish. Make sure your drag is set right. Check to make sure your line is free of abrasions. Recheck your line periodically throughout your fishing trip. The most important thing is to have fun and not worry unnessisarily over losing the fish. The best part is the fight the fish gives so enjoy every second you get. No need to rush things. Good luck on the water.
  5. For those of you that are fortunate enough to fish our beautiful waters, I came across this sight that has a lot of specific information for our lakes. I hope this is useful Good luck on the water. http://www.fishingalabama.com/tips.html
  6. I remember that. ;D
  7. Was that Blanka from street fighter :-/
  8. I had a megaforce that a returned after a month or so of use. The drag started to slip and the thumb bar would not engage after casting. Same thing happened to the one my uncle bought, which was later returned. Several other guys here have had similar problems. I would not buy this reel.
  9. Great fish. That is a big fish and you had a great time with friends. That is all that matters.
  10. Unfortunately, it will catch little fish. All the fish I caught yesterday were dinks :'( Oh well, as long as I have my line in the water I am a happy camper.
  11. I prefer to cast into the shallow and come across the ledge into deeper water. I think the bass are looking for prey to come from this direction and ambush them from deeper water. However, I have caught them from both directions
  12. I think he wants to use a swimbait instead of that worm ;D
  13. Make sure you hit him where your mom won't see the bruises
  14. Those are beautiful pictures and GREAT fish.
  15. That is a great story, Ronnie. That mount stills looks great after all these years. Do you have to do anything to keep it up? As for ponds, I have been told no on two occasions. However, one person with a pond is about to move. When the new owners arrive, I am going to welcome them to the area and ask them if they need help moving anything heavy. Then I will ask about fishing the pond 8-) Another tip is to ask in decent looking clothing. I am not saying a shirt and tie, but it would help to wear something nice not a t-shirt and ratty looking shorts. I always wear a collared shirt. If you have a young child with you, that will help out too.
  16. ;D ;D ;D That is a good one!
  17. I have this same problem with both the brands I have tried. However, I still catch fish with them so I guess it does not matter.
  18. I have not noticed any difference. Plus, the red chips off.
  19. You have done better in 2 days than I have done in over 20 years. :-[ I need to come fish with you guys.
  20. A 9 yo child should not be left alone for any reason. Let alone, to hunt by himself.
  21. Great job and congratulations. Keep whacking those hawgs. It is always great to see the younger crowd with an interest in the outdoors.
  22. The old adage rings true again. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probaly is." I hate thieves and scammers so much.
