nice one!!! i used to fish a canal near my house(99th ct. & SW 213) in the 80's and catch peacock bass. they are so awesome. Do you know when they changed the name of cutler ridge to cutler bay? I guess the name cutler bay sells more houses :

Is it possible that the fish could have sustained a serious enough injury, from a previous angler, to prevent her from eating for a couple weeks, which resulted in being underweight? maybe it has self-image disorders or it just has a big head and the body is the right size for its age ;D

I found this pic in yesterday's newspaper. This gator was destroyed because it was becoming a little too "friendly." The pic is a little misleading because the guy is standing behind and not beside the gator. They captured him in the Dog River near Mobile, Al. He was 11'3". Sure wish I could get a gator liscense this year. He looks deliscious.

I have had good luck with spots in places with a lot of current or shelfs that extend from the shore underwater. I have found that zoom's ol' monster (10.5") work great. I caught one today on a jig with a paca craw as a trailer. Look for drop offs too!! What do you teach? Hopefully I will have a job as a social studies teacher by this fall.

I am so relieved that it is something other than a catfish because when I first looked at the picture I thought to myself, "who in the world does not know what a catfish looks like." ;D

I am generally an EXTREMELY laid back person but when people do that it really makes my blood boil. If this happens while I am at a pier, my favorite thing to do is wait for our lines to tangle, reel in our tangled lines and tell the offender that it is too tangled to undo and then cut that SOBs line 8-) A few weeks ago my uncle and I were fishing one of our favorite holes and catching some decent fish when another boat pulls up < 20' from us and starts casting only a few feet from our boat. On top of this they were using extremely heavy waits to bait fish causing a lot of disturbance in the water and were INCREDIBLEY noisy. Needless to say, my uncle throttled down with all he had and blew out the hole ;D It never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate some people are.

BLASPHEMY!!!! It is more exciting for several reasons: 1. it involves less sweating 2. you can sit down while you do it 3. you can eat while you do it 4. it does not involve running ;D

When I got this reel I was very excited about my purchase. It looks great and feels great. On the water it casts a mile and the twitchin' bar is awesome!. I have even wrote a report on this site stating my satisfaction with this reel. However, within 4-6 weeks of the reels use I began to experience numerous problems. I could disengage the spool to cast but somtimes it would not rengage when I turned the handle so I would have to press the bail button up to renengage the spool. Secondly, the drag would not stay set and would go to lesser settings. Lastly, on several occasions I would be in the middle of reeling in a fish and the drag would cease to function all together. My uncle and his friend both have this real and all 3 of us have returned it to Bass Pro for something different. I suggest you spend a little more and buy something more sturdy if possible or plan on frequent exchanges.
