Throwing a buzzbait during spawn?
if the fish are active why not? I would atleast try it. Maybe even throw a chugbug if its a bit slower.

New Jigs
I'm biased to brand. On the weedguard it is all preference. A weedguard comes in different thickness of fibers and size. There are FG-30's FG40's and a few other sizes. FG30 is the most common on all brands. In FG30's there are a couple different thickness of each individual fibers. Others may too, I just dont use them. I usually use the thinner ones. If my memory serves me right its .020 or something like that. IMO a longer weedguard is more flexible. Shorter is stiffer. Just like anything else. Steel rod for example, longer one is easier to bend. This is why I use a lighter weedguard most of the time. I would rather lose a couple more jigs to losing a hog bass. I fish all my weedguards just the way they come. If your wanting to lighten up the weedguard take a good pair of scissors or diaganal cutters and cut a few of the fibers out. And I bet you thought a weedguard is just a weedgaurd that stuck out of a jig. ;D

Old people...
There's one in every age group Exactly. Honestly I see older people do it more then younger. Might be where I fish though. Its not a age deal. Its a respect deal or lack of respect. That is one way to get me upset fast and I typically have alot of patience.

When Is The Best Time Of Year To Fish Crankbaits?
My general rule is Lipless high 40's Cranks 50's Thats the magic temp for me. Not perfect and yes you can catch them in colder temps but that is where I see a bigger difference in catch %.

Eyes on Jigs ?

Jig skirts
most of the time I throw a jig that doesnt stick past, in the late spring to fall on a bigger fish bite I will throw a full skirt. Really depends on the profile I want to create.

Shizam, Non toxic
It was 60/40 if i remember right. Cost me about 40 dollars with shipping for 2lbs. That will give you an idea of cost per jig. I havent fished the ones I've painted yet but I had to reduce the cure temp to 250 for 30 min. So I'm not real sure on durability of paint. I used this temp because that is what was recommended for jigs with weedguards in them. The bis/tin melts alot lower then lead an pours nicer but is alot more brittle. The Spur for me broke cleaner then lead but make sure you wear glasses. It doesnt break like lead and it will fragmen. Also, there is a learning curve for removeing bis/tin from molds. Unlike lead this alloy expands when cooled. :-? i''d stick with simple designs. The poisen is a pain.

Shizam, Non toxic
its a bit lighter. The 3/4 oz jig head 415grains lead weighs about 350gr in bis/tin. It would probably be close to a true 3/4 oz jig after the weedgaurd and paint and might go over with the skirt. I havent weighed a built one yet.

Shizam, Non toxic
My latest project. It looks like a regular head but is it lead? NOPE. A bismuth tin jig head. 8-)

Winchester M70
I shoot an older featherweight in a 308 win. The new ones are sweet. That new MOA trigger is far superior to that older style.

I challenge you. :)
being able to fight only six times is not good. I'd be way past you by now. ;D

Shaky Head Misses
need to have the very tip of the hook point out of the plastic. if its barried you could just be pulling it out of the fishes mouth.
