Rubber Band For Spinner Baits
You will need an expander of some type also. They make a few different styles. Typically they come in packs of 100 for the bands.

A Couple Off The Dock
Nice fish!! Congrats.

High Speed Reels Only
The slowest bait caster I've thrown in years is 6.2:1. I'm not a fan of slow reels in the 4-5 range. I've tried it and it does not fit my fishing style.

Finding Smallmouth
I'm not sure on what type of water temps you have but my #1 thing I would search for first is rocky points. Either Primary or Secondary. If there are docks or seawalls fish those also. Especially if they have rock.

1St Seibert Order
I like swimming them next to laydowns or over grass. Clear to stained water is my favorite for throwing anything white or shad colored. Also when the fish are feeding on shad.

Weather Stripping - Compartment Leaks
I have, It depends if you have a lip on the compartment. If there is no lip it will probably still leak. Here is one of the best though. http://tacomarine.com/cat--Weather-Seal-Hatch-Tape--cat_weather_seal.html

Is Flrocarbon Ok For Topwater
I dont throw topwater very much, but since I am all flouro I make it work.Buzzbaits it is fine, as it is always moving, spooks and poppers you have to work it faster than really needed..... but if fish are actively hitting topwater it dont matter. you best bet it tie on a fairly long mono leader... Pretty much the same thing here. There are better options but as little as I throw top water I make it work.

How To Get Grass
I'd have a hard time adding grass to a lake. I'd go more with lay downs, rock piles, and any other structure. I'd be real worried in a couple years the lake would start getting over grown. Your conservation dept should be able to help and sometimes they have programs for these types of things.

Can You Texas Rig Tubes?
I texas rig tubes a lot. Works really well. Especially in smallie waters.
-
Lake Of The Ozarks
I'd throw a jig around the docks. Works year round.

Trimming A Jig Weed Guard
Same here.

G Lock Or Ewg Hook
I prefer the Owner Twistloc light with the cps. The Senko tends to last longer and rig up easier without constantly sliding down your hook.

What Was Your "breakthrough" Moment?
Probably my biggest two are Scuba diving. This taught me how bass react under water, hold to structure, and even feed. Learning to use an open mind to all fisherman's opinions and how they fish. There are so many different styles and techniques compiled with everyone different approach to a situation that without an open mind you will not advance as fast or possibly at all. Knowledge is key and the unwillingness to learn or accept opinions will slow your learning curve. Using these techniques you can adapt others styles to fit your style of fishing.
