  1. Great Job!!!
  2. Hey Big-O- Not to make you more jealous, but the lake is 100 feet from the door, not 100 yards. ;D P.S. Got my first Rage Toad fish Sat morn. Might post pics if I get them out of the camera. I felt like saying what Shaw Grigsby says on his show- "What A Strike!"
  3. Yeah- I was going to say a $50.00 bill should work! But seriously- T-rigged weightless Senko Type bait won't let you down. Try a Lunker City 5' Fin S Fish, also t-rigged weightless. Casts good and works! Not too many people use this bait. I've always had great luck with it. Rig it straight and its a fantastic jerk bait. Rig it with a slight bananna type bend in it an it comes alive on the surface.
  4. My 3 favorites would be: 1) Rage Craw. 2) Page Craw. 3) Rage Craw. Chigger Craws would be at 4. Did I mention Rage Craws?
  5. 5" senko type bait skipped around and under boats and docks. 4.5" Shadalicious or fluke type baits in between the docks. Baby Brush Hog in the grass. Big Ribbon Tail worms on deep weed edges. Depends on conditions.
  6. Caddyshack. A Bronx Tale.

Looks like she whupped your butt! ;D Give her an ATTA GIRL for me.
  8. Snuck out of work early last Friday and it paid off. First pic from Friday night. Yes, they were released. The lake is 100 feet from my front door. Next 2 pics from Sat. Last from Sun. 30 MPH winds but still got a few good ones.
  9. Here's my little corner of the world. 2 small connected lakes. First pic is my cottage from the back. Second is from the front.
  10. That and if you can still find them, a Cordell 2 prop Crazy Shad, are my fav. prop baits.

Used to use it all the time. Somehow it was sent to the back burner but it does catch fish. A buzzbait you can stop can be dynamite.

X2. Color would be Black/Blue Flake for darker water, Watermelon/Black and Red Flake in clearer water.

Cut my frog fishing teeth on the Scumfrog Popper. Still works today. Scumfrog Trophy is an excellent bait as are the Bigfoot. Only problem is they have real soft bodies. While that is a plus for hookups, if you are fishing reeds or pads the bait will tend to get hung up more often than others. If you are fishing it over the top of moss or other floating slop, they are great. Could be a little heavier though.
  14. Check out site below for best prices on all things Megastrike. JJ's online only as all have said. http://www.proanglers.com/catalog/pro_anglers_fishing_catalog.htm#megastrike
  15. Agree with J about fall rate. Probably a touch more durable than Senkos. Here is the litmus test. Compare action as the bait falls. IMHO, Senkos and Ochos have the best wiggle or shimmy on the fall. Next are Tiki Sticks, which have a very slow fall rate. Next would be the Dingers. Durability would be Tiki Sticks first, Dingers, Ochos, and Senkos last. As far as value, you have to decide. They all catch fish. I stocked up on Tiki Sticks when their old website had them on sale for $1.00 a bag. Bought enough to last a lifetime. Those days are over now though. These are the only 4 name brand stick bates I've used.
  16. For about $50.00 or less on sale you can get a Diawa Regal XiA 10 bearing reel. I have two of them and love them.
  17. I stick to the single superline hook. My thoughts are, if a fish hits a frog or toad in more or less open water, you will most likely get the hook in her. If she hits in slop and also gets a mouth full of slop with the bait, down go your odds. I have had more than my share of misses due to this in the slop using Snagproof, Spro type frogs and they all have 2 hooks. But by all means go ahead and try them. I'm not a fan of the screw-in style of hook but alot of others are. I think they tear up the baits nose too quickly. JMHO.
  18. Have to flip a coin to decide which looks better. Steve or the Fish. O.K., 2 out of 3. Sorry Big-O, fish wins! ;D ;D

Old JJ himself put it best. That tap you feel wasn't the bass grabbing the bait to put it in his pocket for later. Slam him!
  20. Yes, they did lose the first 2 games. In the big tournaments it works like this: The teams are split into "groups" of 4, and those 4 play a round robin against each other. Your win/loss record is irrelevant, because you are given points based on the game: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and no points for a loss. Then the two teams from each group with the highest point totals advance to a bracketed, single-elimination tournament. So if I understand it, you can go 1-2, a losing record, and still play for the championship in your bracket? Ties in the playoffs? Man, all sports should have playoffs like that. On second thought, Maybe a team with a losing record doesn't deserve to play for the championship. In my opinion, won/loss record should be the determining factor, not irrelevant. If ties are allowed, why keep score? JMHO. Still, hats off to our guys!

Bass bite is usually a thump or your line jumps and starts moving off. Bluegill will grab it a try to rip a leg or the tail off hence the tap tap tap feeling. Big bass often pick it up and you don't know until something feels heavy or wrong. When in doubt, hit 'em. could lose an arm or tail to a gill but that's the game.
  22. Didn't they lose their first 2 games and still make the finals? Interesting how that works. I could be mistaken as I don't follow the sport. Sound like it was a good game though.

I guess the old "Comes In Threes" theory holds up. Farrah, Michael, now Billy. Billy will be missed. Maybe the Shamwow guy can fill in for him. Can't help but watch both those guys' commercials. Took Ron Popiel's lead to another level.

Agree with Raul 100% on Pitts. (American Staffordshire Terrier) My brother has 2 of them and I love to go out in the back yard and wrestle with them. Unfortunately, they always kick my butt. Never once even a threat of a bite. He trains dogs and had Dobermans until one bit his son. Any dog can be trained to be a killer. Some are just inherently better than others. I've heard German Shepherds are one of the meanest breeds. I have a Dachshund that thinks its a Wolverine. >
