  1. Sexy Shad of course ;D
  2. 1/2 oz. is good all around weight. 3/8 also. Fippin you might want to go heavier. Can't go wrong with black and blue. I like the rage craw and chigger craw for trailers. Football haeads for casting.
  3. I was about 6 and fishing off my grandparent's dock at their summer home and caught my first Bass on a Hulapopper, probably just reeling it straight in with my Zebco 33. It was probably just 2 or 3 pounds but I thought it was huge. I put it in a fishbasket and hung it off the pier until everyone I could find came and looked at it. Then for some reason, I let it go which was unheard of way back then. Hooked (pun intended) ever since.
  4. Check their website. I'm sure if you contact them they'd be happy to sell you some.
  5. Looks more like a perch. Might not imitate anything but bright colors draw strikes in stained or dirty water and call in fish in clear water. Might be a perch trying to attract other perch. (Not that there's anything wrong with that) ;D
  6. The only trouble you'll have with lead is if you happen to swallow some sinkers or if it is in a shotgun shell and your girlfriends father is aiming the shotgun at you. :D
  7. Depends on the bait- If it is a diving bait and you want it to go deeper, put the bigger book in the belly, giving it a more nose down attitude. Wake baits or cranks you want to run shallower, reverse and put bigger hook at butt end raising nose. Sometimes this will screw up the action so don't pitch the hooks you took off until you try the bait.
  8. Just bought 2 packs of Rage Craws at Dick's for $4.99 each. $5.99 each everywhere else. Am going back at lunch today for some toads and shad. I think there is a video on Strikeking's website. Go to Tackle Warehouse's site. They had a video also.
  9. Owner Mustad Gammie VMC Really all pretty close.
  10. Sound like Chicago Politics to me. Aren't there cameramen or boats with or following the top guys? I remember seeing KVD pulling in a bunch of fish on a fat free shad and said he caught his fish on Strike King series 5 "Sexy Shad". Cameras don't lie. He later did say he caught a few on the bomber. Makes you wonder that if you don't actually see it can you believe it. We need a congressional investigation into this matter.
  11. I'd keep it for posterity. Chances are you have enough rigs already that you don't really need it and luck like that doesn't happen every day. If you do need it and if it is an upgrade to what you already have, fish it!
  12. I've been looking at it and listening for about ten minutes and it hasn't told me a thing yet. Should I keep waiting? ;D ;D ;D

Sure is a lot of good blackmail material here. Hmmm.....
  14. If you're looking for a rod or reel, I think it's best to check them out in person at the store of your choice. If none close, T.W. is probably your best bet. Beware of the stickers though. Bass Pro or Cabelas are good too. There are quite a few specialty sites also that cater more toward high end or tournament equipment. Do a google on what you are looking for to start.
  15. Black 1/2 oz. Roland Martin Double Buzzer at dusk.

Or a combination of all three!

  18. X2 They are also stronger due to better quality steel used, hence the higher cost. Probably not too important in bass fishing but hook a 30 lb. musky on a small crank and you'll appreciate quality components.

I leave the skirts alone. I do trim the weedguard to a point where it is still above the hook but when you collapse it it does not touch the hook. Still weedless and as FS01 said, Confidence Thing!

Can't live with em, can't shoot em!
  21. Show em your ten inch power worm. Then explain why they call you Long Mike! ;D
  22. Buy 'em. Use 'em. They will work t-rigged, C-rigged, weightless. If after trying them you don't like them send them to me. I can return them for you. (return then too the water that is) ;D
  23. Don't know how this got from TW stickers to BPS bashing but I checked out 2 sites bizz recommended and unless you are really into large swimbaits, neither can match BPS or TW for selection or price. Of the 2 BTD, is pretty good though. Overall TW has best pricing and BPS and TW offer best selection. I like BPS because I actually like to see and handle (especially rods and reels) before I buy so I don't get a noisy reel or a rod with misaligned or cracked guides. Just my humble opinion.
  24. Get a 10 foot bank rod, some corn, nightcrawlers or prepared boilies, pepper the area you want to fish with corn, and bait a circle hook with a crawler or hair rig with a boilie. Sit back and wait for a monster carp to bite. Hang on as they fight like freight trains. That's canal fishing Chicago style!
