Dream Sponsors and Sponsors you'd never dream of
Um, the correct answer is anyone who wants to pay my way. If tampax gave me financial support to fish the big tournies and got me a nice bass boat i would wear there name. Exactly!

misc. thoughts
1. salt-is there any difference between the salt sold for worm making and running regular salt through a spice grinder until its a fine powder. table salt works but can bleach out the color of your plastic. You may need to add more dye. Grinding it is time consuming as well. 2. lurecraft molds-i ordered a stick mold from them that they say is not a two piece but makes round baits and you pour it through a hole in the bottom. i was curious and bought one since it was only $10 and i wanted a 6 inch mold to go with my 4 and 5 aluminum ones. anyone tried these. Haven't tried it but I recommend the aluminum molds since yours is only a single cavity. Making 20 baits will take you an hour. I can do it in a few minutes with aluminum molds. 3. glitter- will regular craft store glitter work ok. i tried some my son had around for arts and crafts and it seemed to work fine. This glitter likely isn't heat tolerant and will leach color into the hot plastic 4. colors-there is nothing you can buy at craft stores or anywhere that you can use to color worms is there. i thought i had ordered everything i needed but forgot one color. i suppose ill just wait till next order but i was just curious. I would only go with the dye you get through Del's or Lure craft. 5. janns netcraft molds-they say you need an injector to use them. they apear to be two piece molds that are made of hard plastic and kept together with c-clamps. seem like a cheap alternative to aluminum molds for some of the things that i wont make that often. anyone know abou these injector molds, if you really need one and how hard they are to use. they basically look like a big syringe and cost about 10 bucks Less cavities and more crap to hold the mold together means pouring is a slow go, go aluminum and do it right the first time 6. anyone have any tips on pouring one sided molds. i think i just need pracice and steadier hands to have less flashing and such. Steady hands are good but having a sharp X-acto knife to cut flash is better

Most Versatile Bass boat?
Just my opinion, I would look at an aluminum Triton or G3 HP. Both under 20ish. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I wouldn't get a glass boat. I run several rivers here in Fl. and hitting rocks is always a possibility. I have a G3 Eagle 175. It is 18ft in length, has a 60 HP 4stroke does about 45 MPH. I could probably go to a 115HP to get the speed you need but to me it isn't necessary. My only complaint is the underpowered trolling motor at 40lbs. I would like a 70 as well.

few recipe questions
Depending on the amount of salt you are using, you may have to add softener to make the baits more flexible. I personally don't care for softener though. Relax the amountof salt a bit to find a happy medium.

Starting to feel a bit torn... What would you do?
Chris, don't remember if I already asked you but....what kind of G3 are you running? I have a 2006 Eagle 175 60HP Yamaha 4 stroke. Love the boat!

first hand pours
Matt just imagine whow you will feel when you take that first really good fish on something you made yourself. That is the the payoff, the feeling of success. Last night I caught a 6lb+ largemouth on a hand poured frog I made. That made me feel good!

hand pour guys, show me your stix
Today I did a redshad lam for a custom order. When I took it out of the mold, I hated it. When I put it in the bag, I realized it was pretty good. I think when you have colors that really contrast like red and black, they look awkward at first. I'll learn to like it. Also did a basic black/chart lam. I'll post a couple more photos when I tidy them up a little. The RK/JB is smoking hot right now.

hand pour guys, show me your stix
I've been on a kick doing laminates, something I said I'd never do for my custom bait business. It seems that guys just can't get enough of them though. Here are a few of the colors I've been doing: Tablerock shad Roadkill Camo green weenie RoadKill Junebug Watermelon Armageddon Firetail Show us some of your wackier colors! The mold is a 5.5" custom Fat stick that has 3X the diamter of a standard 5" Senko.

Selling your lures?
Do you have a working model? The first step to selling baits is to actually have a physical bait to sell. Do you have a bait that you have tested and can make to specific/consistent tolerances? I mean, looking great will only go so far. The real test is what the bait does in the water.

Price of plastic
It is up about 10.00 per 5 gallons. Not too horrible considering it is a petroleum based product.

My new episode on Lunkerville-link
stroz, the link is www.micromunchtackle.com If you go to the main page, there is another link to the pilot episode of the show that I did with them in 2003. That was a really good show with a couple of decent fish caught. Glad you liked it.

My new episode on Lunkerville-link
It was a fun shoot. Although you can only see us catch a few fish, there was more action, just not all of it makes the cut. They made me look good, i was testing a new line that I never used before and I wound up breaking off the first almost dozen hooksets. What a nightmare. A couple of those fish I saw and they were really nice fish. In all I had a blast. I have them come to Fl and do a Peacock bass show.-C

pitchin' and flippin' how to?
If you get the sportsmans channel or the water channel, next week I am guest hosting an episode of LunkerVille. It is a jig fishing segment and I show how I use the pitching technique. After next week I'll put a link for it up on this site.

Lets see some custom sticks.
Triton Mike, I know Kistler and Gblanks offer something similar. That design is my fave as well. Split rear grip, no foregrip and very little behind the reel seat too. The less clunky the design, the more polished everything feels. I admire the work on the rod with the hypolon split design but to me it looks like the butt is very big and the extra foam in front of the reel seat wouldn't be something I'd utilize. I like the foam on the reel seat. I normally use skeletal seats but the option of a little more comfort is appealing.
