  7. Never go to Mexico ~ A-Jay
  8. Agreed ~ And when it's all about just one color & one color only, if it's a plastic bait or trailer, with out fail I'll only have ONE BAG and it's usually a partial . . . I hate that. A-Jay
  9. I have & fish a full arsenal of Quantum reels and have been for several years. This does include several of the KVD Tour Edition casting reels. I'm not concerned with what's the best or who fishes with which brand. I like them and they work well for me. As far as the tolerances & if they hold up, I take care & maintain my tackle and there have been zero issues for me. The man's who's name is on the gear reportedly fishes them fairly hard. Finally, as for the effectiveness of the reels, All the fish I am pictured with below were hook, fought and landed with a Quantum KVD Tour Edition reel. Seemed to hold up OK for me. 10. Thank you for the support One or twice a year I manage to string together a couple of coherent sentences . . . Looks like I may have peaked a little early this year. A-Jay
  11. Nice Work ~ Way to Shake Off the Cob Webs. Congrats A-Jay
  12. I emailed them a while back to inquire about the 7" model and was told that they had discontinued it. Very Sad. Would love to see the larger bait make a come back along with the Fork Tail model. A-Jay
  13. Don't under estimate the seductive fish catching power of a Big Worm. Over sized worms in the 10 inch plus range, have been fooling Big Bass for a long time. A-Jay
  14. LOL ~ One thing's for sure - after this thread, I'm not longer using a Pencil . . . . . . A-Jay
  15. Yup and here's some Really Big Cranks. The top right is a 10XD A-Jay
  16. OK - I'll admit that I do not completely understand that actual physics involved here. I have had some bad experiences when utilizing the pencil method on a spinner regardless or whether it was off the top or the bottom of the spool. But I'm still learning. Maybe it's like the TP ~ A-Jay
  17. Easy way to remove line twist ~ While running your boat at a slow & control speed, let all your line out behind the boat. It's Important that you have NOTHING tied on the end of the line. Once it's all out, close the bail and just hold it for a minute or two; all the twists will come out. Then simply reel it all back up. This is something you can & should consider doing periodically / anytime you're fishing any technique that twists your line - on any rig not just spinning gear. Good Luck A-Jay
  18. Set up your filler spool so that the line is spinning off the spool and spinning on to your reel In The Same Direction. Also, you can't stick a pencil into the hole in the filler spool and spin it on like a casting reel. It will be all twisted up if you do. A-Jay
  19. Nice Bass & Report. Congrats Last spring, in limited action, I had decent results on a Rage Blade as well. A-Jay
  20. If your looking for a bit of a beefier bait, check out the Lucky Craft LC RT Rattle In Crankbait in the 3.5 size. A-Jay
  21. My light rigs are usually 10lb braid with a mono leader. I prefer to hang out in the 6-8 lb area - Had my heart (and line) broken a few times while I was living dangerously in the 4 lb zone. Also depends on where I'm fishing, but I've got to get bit first, I'll worry about what happens next right after that. A-Jay
