  5. To me, snagless & weedless are two different concepts. Snagless implies that a baits' set up will resist or be less apt to snag in wood / timber, rocks, docks or other assorted non-aquatic cover (That's key) Weedless implies that a bait or rig is less prone to becoming fouled in weeds. You can pick whichever ones you like. Where snagless is not usually weedless, weedless is often times fairly snagless. And there you go. A-Jay

  8. Been working with Brody & Gunner now for just about 3 weeks. This is the point where we usually start to see who they really are; meaning that if the training & the incorporation into the pack is going well, the dogs start to let their hair down if you will and show their real personalities. It's always a super fun & rewarding period. Experience has proven to us, time & time again, that getting out & exercising with our dogs is about the best way to bring it all together. And a tired dog is a happy dog - love seeing those long tongues. It's a process and definitely not a race. Been making steady improvements and yesterday, one at a time, they both were introduced to pulling the sled, always an interesting event. It went like most first days go but by the end of the run, which we kept brief, they had sort of figured out what the deal was. So today was day two, and they both made significant improvement. Certainly not ready for the Iditarod, but there were considerably less snafu's than yesterday. Lynn managed to shoot a brief clip of me returning with Brody this afternoon - he looks like he's been doing it for years in the video. 10. That Sir ~ was very well said. Pretty such the same for me too, except change out the duck hunting for dog sledding. So I don't totally hate winter, as long as there's enough snow to ride the rails. (and there always is) I do probably complain about it a little too much. A-Jay
  11. It's all good & I'm with you 100% ~ I do enjoy the jokes in this thread and several are really funny. But I respect the "Spirit" of this forum completely and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of it, and strive to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. A-Jay
  12. Looks like that one didn't make the cut. Sorry. I'll do better next time. A-Jay
  13. Haven't decided on what the game day chow will be yet. But I'm hoping that the Patriots will be dining on some Seahawk. A-Jay

  18. Thanks - We're Fenway Freaks. That's a 100 anniversary special Jersey right there. And of course we did have to name a dog Fenway. A-Jay
  19. Winter Sucks ~ But there's No Hurricanes. Or Tornadoes for that matter. A-Jay
  20. Go for it Dwight - you can do it. . . . And before anyone calls me on it - The manufacture of that particular apparatus (Powertec) lists the safe working load for squats on that Leverage machine as 300, so I was a little over. But I won't tell them if you don't. A-Jay
  21. Under Armor Cold gear has been my standard base layer for years. However Columbia Omni-Heat has replaced it. The Columbia product is lighter, less compressing making it more comfortable and feels warmer to me. Second layer is wool or fleece as the mood strikes me. I am also NOT a person who would ever wear anything cotton in the cold, especially as a base layer. A-Jay
  22. The fishing lure accessory that neutralizes any concerns of how baits will respond on different days and during different conditions, as well as customize a crank bait to do some interesting things, is Storm SuspenDots & SuspenStrips. They are perfect for making a floating lure suspend right in front of a piece of cover, forcing a big bass to bite. SuspenStrips can also be used to change the attitude or the angle of dive on crankbaits. By placing more weight on the diving bill you can force the head of the lure to get down quicker, dive deeper, and stay down longer. When the head is deeper, your bait will wiggle more violently at a slower speed which makes your bait more noticeable to a bass. Try weighting the tail of your lure making it not dive quite as deep, this will enable you to swim a big crankbait over shallow cover. A-Jay

When they first came out The Stick Jacket was what I bought and I got quite a few. They work well. The neoprene Rod Glove is a much better protector of the rod but if you plan on getting a bunch, could cost you some $$$$$ A-Jay
  24. No ~ Simply turn / twist the front of side plate on the non reel handle side Down and you'll be in business. A-Jay
