Question About Thrown Baits
Josh ~ It was just a general inquiry. I think the size of a bass, the angle at which a fish attacks a bait, if the fish turns the bait in any way in it's mouth as well as the time between strike & angler detection along with the hook set itself, all play a role as to where and how securely a hook (or hooks in the case of a multiple treble hook presentation) end up biting into the bass. Then added to all this is the line choice, rod type (power & action) along with the ability & actions of the angler and then the fighting ability / desire to escape of the bass. So this is a pretty lengthy and still not all inclusive list of factors. Even when we think we've done everything right, fish still will earn their freedom on occasion. But I do hate it when it's a Big One. A-Jay

Bruce Jenner Becoming A Woman
- Favorite Lure To Use-
I fell in love with casting & retrieving baits a long time ago. So most any bait I can heavy out there and crank back to the boat makes me smile. Of course I certainly do like to get bit too so I'll do what I have to. But if I'm chunking & winding AND catching Bass - it's a very good day. A-Jay- Question About Thrown Baits
I'd say there are several factors & forces that come into play when discussing how a fish is hooked & whether or not a bass can or will throw a lure. I'd would very curious to know what technique and / or lure you fish that allows you to know where / how a bass will be hooked in advance. This is a something I've never been able to do. I have & fish the 120SP - the hooks on this deep diver are not the same. These are a heavier gauge treble than on the jerkbait. A-Jay- Should I Tackle This Job?
Great Information right there ~ This is what make this forum so good. Also - though I've not done this repair before, after reading this - I'd be paying a professional. Sounds like there are many little tricks of trade that I would not want to learn the hard way. Good Luck A-Jay- New Fishermen!
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Since you're "new to fishing" I will tell you a that there is quite a bit to learn. Asking here what do I need is like asking "How do I build a house?" ~ there is just a whole lot to it. But unlike building a house, you don't have to know it all before you can catch bass successfully; but you will have to learn some on your own about bass fishing, especially in the beginning. There's no way around it. You will have to do some reading and if you chose, take some notes. This will help you organize and utilize the information effectively. The journey taken while learning how to bass fish is fun and part of what makes the eventual bass catching so satisfying. So as many here have already recommended, read up on Bass fishing for beginners and soon you'll be posting up pictures of the Big ones. Good Luck A-Jay- Need Help Choosing The Right Rod And Line To Use For Bass

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay- Duo Realis Crankbait G87 20A
Duo doesn't identify make / model on anything I've seen yet. When I ordered the baits I also order the appropriate Mustad ewg Elite replacements. Though I do not immediately recognized the stock treble, it's a stout #2x ewg number - Looks very good. So I'm not planning on replacing it - that should tell you something. A-Jay- Duo Realis Crankbait G87 20A
I purchased a few (and was sent a few- Thanks Scott) - Black Friday deals - I love the Duo line and have very high expectations of good things with this one as well. I'll be probing the depths south of the border during the main deep crank bite (hopefully) so we'll really get a chance to evaluate this one on some plus size fish with an accecnt. . . . . .
