  1. Just like working any Bass bait, on any given day, fast slow & even dead stick will work, so don't get all crazy with what retrieve to use. Simply moving the bait a few inches and then letting it sit for a few beats and then doing that again will get you bites almost every day & on every body of water. The frogs position in the environment & the fact that it looks like an easy meal is where the magic lies (notice I didn't say anything about color or type of retrieve). For me frog fishing is about patience - first to work the bait slowly and secondly (and Most Importantly) on the strike, regardless of the ferocity, one must wait just a tick before setting the hook to ensure the fish has the bait. Some like to wait to feel the bass's weight on the line and that works too, I just can't seem to wait quite that long. Good Luck A-Jay

  4. Wow ~ Hope you're OK A couple of pieces of advice for you. 1) while on the water definitely wear a life jacket. 2) while in your drive way, wear a flak jacket & a football helmet. A-Jay

  6. I'd go with 30lb braid - Manages well, casts good and is certainly strong enough. A-Jay

  9. Presenting clear water by itself makes a bait & / or technique decision challenging. But day in & day out, in very clear water, it's tough to beat a Drop Shot - And a Dream Shot or a Rage Craw would be my first or second choice. A-Jay
  10. I NEVER drink anything remotely close to it - but while we're south of the border, we always have at least one a day. If & when there may be a lull in the action - the guide will announce "time for Lucky Coke" and we'll all down one. Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't - But they Always taste good. However I'm pretty sure the stuff will remove paint . . . A-Jay

  15. Very Interesting. Sounds a lot like "Playing a Fishing Video Game" does it not ? As several Tournament Officials have seen it necessary to ban the A-Rig, I'll be very curious to see how this type of technology is viewed. A-Jay

  19. How about Lake Chickamauga TN ? Gabe Keen appears to have broken a 60-year-old, bass-fishing record in the state of Tennessee. He landed a 15.2 pound largemouth bass on Lake Chickamauga on Friday Feb. 13, 2015. A-Jay

  21. Great story - The BEST Way to get into your own or someone else's boat is at the stern, put a foot on the lower unit (motor turned off) AND USE THE MOTORS TRIM TO LIFT YOU UP INTO THE VESSEL. A-Jay

  25. Why make it hard on yourself ? There are (3) types of "Fish Handling" in my mind. 1). Catch & Release. 2). Catch & Keep to Eat 3). Catch and Keep for record verification and weigh in. An individual serious about #3 should already have the paper work in this/her vehicle along with the phone numbers to dial / State officials to contact Both during working hours AND after working hours and on weekends. Being ready is the best way to make the process successful. Otherwise one may end up missing out on what will most likely be a once in 10 life times opportunity. A-Jay
