For mid to deep cranks, a braid to match the conditions and a Glass rod. For square bill or contact / cover cranks - either co-poly and a Graphite stick or braid and a Glass twig. A-Jay

I started out using a Palomar knot and it worked OK. More recently I've been switching between using a Uni-knot and the afore mentioned VMC spinshot hooks. Both work well. Can't really say that I have a favorite. A-Jay

Don't leave the dock without a couple of spoons. Slightly over-sized for bass will do nicely. The classis red & white as well as the "5 of diamonds" patterns have accounted for many a pike. These are definitely in the Oldie but Goodie class. Some type of leader and a "Jaw Spreader" will make the whole experience much more pleasant. Good Luck A-Jay
