Rhino, that is a very sad story. Those children didn't know any better and trusted the adults to keep them safe. Taking them out onto that cold, rough water is bordering on suicidal. In this case proved to be fatal. I know you've seen it before, I have and it's always very disturbing. A-Jay

I 'd say that the baits action differ between each manufacturer. Some are softer, some are firmer and different salt content plays a role in sink rate. There are several to choose from and most will take fish at one point or another. The Original Senko seems to have a little something extra when it comes to getting bites, but what ever that is, you'll pay for it. Yum and Yamamoto are the only one I know of that make a 7 inch bait. Which is my personal favorite. A-Jay

Glad you had a good time. As for listening to your guide; I've only fished with a guide a few times. Initially, I was somewhat hesitant to listen to the advice / ideas being offered. I still caught some fish. However once I got over myself, the success rate went Way Up. If your guide feels / believes that you are working with them and not on your own agenda - There's a decent chance you'll both have a good experience - especially when you are fishing water you have never been on. When Lynn & I do pre-dawn trips to a few somewhat distant & low lying lakes, it's not unusual for the air temps to be in the high 30's or low 40's when we launch ~ in June. A-Jay

Go Back At Night ~ You will not be able to see her, she will not be able to see you but you know she's in the area. Advantage - You. A beefy, slowly fished top water or wake bait is a good choice or a black single blade spinner bait just slow rolled through the her living room.
