  3. He Better. Otherwise, he can say Bye-Bye to that hat ~ A-Jay
  4. "My Brand is better than Your Brand" threads are perhaps my least favorite topics on the entire BR fishing forum. Rarely if ever, to these threads add anything constructive to what is otherwise such an excellent site. I can't even call them entertaining as they routinely cause disharmony. Question regarding certain brands / models are routinely answered with adequate information provided by members who have experience using the equipment. Posts offering the opportunity to debate brand quality, performance and dependability, illicit responses that appear defensive, misrepresented and hard to interpret; completely different from so many of the high quality response elsewhere on the forum. If there is nothing good to say . . . . . . . . A-Jay
  5. Here's the link to a review of the reels I did summer 2012 . Participated in the TW Demo program before I bought them. Ended up buying them. A-Jay http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/106174-new-shimano-calcutta-series-d-casting-reel-demo-review/?p=1159648
  6. Fair enough ~ However, once you provide that information it becomes part of the discussion. I've never fish there but have seen video footage of some very respectable bass being caught . A-Jay
  7. Been out on: 4 Lake Erie, Michigan/Ohio/New York/Pennsylvania 43 Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire 53 St. Lawrence River, New York 54 Squam Lake, New Hampshire 99 Sebago Lake, Maine A-Jay
  8. There are several knots what will do the job well. I'll offer this though, regardless of what knots are used throughout the length of your entire rig, when breaking off one's line on a snag, the stress exerted on the entire rig is significant. I'd recommend re-tying all the knots that are subjected to that stress, regardless of whether they fail or not. Not doing so is risking losing a plus size fish; especially if you're using fluorocarbon. A-Jay
  9. It's all good & I'm done. A-Jay
  10. Fair enough. And any angler who is willing to shell out three $10 bills, is getting what they paid for; a reel that cost less than the line. A-Jay
  11. Naw ~ Insightful perhaps. Besides, how are you gonna get those size15 Gun Boats in the minivan ? A-Jay
  12. One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do . . . . A-Jay
  13. It's the right tool for the job and you know it. So go with the flow Dude. But remember, this is one vehicle where excessive speed does not make you look cool. A-Jay
  14. So with your frame of mind - Since the Chevrolet Spark at $12K is a the least expensive vehicle they sell and it's not much in performance or looks The Corvette Stingray starting at just over $50K must also be very bad. C'mon man. A-Jay
  15. Those silly folks over at Quantum - every reel they sell is defective. That's not right. Why can't those guys make a good reel ? How the heck do they even stay in business selling all those bad reels ? I just can't believe it - A-Jay
  16. I fish 3 versions of the reel ~ TKVDC150PPT 5.3:1 CRANKING Reel TKVD150HPT 7.3:1 Used for top water, jigs and burning spinner baits TKVD150SPT 6.6:1 used for everything Line used is 15 - 20 pound lb. and 10 - 65 lb. braid. A-Jay

  22. Controlled or not ~ I'm staying up wind. A-Jay
  23. George Strait said it well ~ "Well, the truth about a mirror Is that a damned old mirror Don't really tell the whole truth It don't show what's deep inside Or read between the lines And it's really no reflection of my youth" A-Jay
  24. I was big proponent of UA Cold gear. Especially in a situation where I was going to be active in the cold; wicking away moisture is important. I have recently stitched completely to Columbia Omni-Heat - Everything. It's warmer, fits much better and does it all. Base layer, Mid layer & Top layer as well as socks, gloves, boots & hats. 25. First off Welcome to BR ~ Perhaps you could hold off on new tackle and after some research, purchase an appropriate sonar/gps for your situation. If you've never used one, I'm betting your fishing is about to take on a whole new meaning. However this, may in turn, may result in more tackle. Good Luck A-Jay
