  4. Had quite a bit of training on Hypothermia but clearly not an expert. Certainly an event driven occurrence and a Medical Emergency for sure, however I have not heard of individuals becoming more or easily susceptible to the condition as a result of being in that situation previously. When treating the patient, "Have you ever had Hypothermia before?" was not a question or consideration. It's been a while, perhaps it's changed. Either way, what you're saying is You Were pretty cold eh . . . . A-Jay
  5. Check out the Pro Locker Rod Bag - TW sells one, but is not the only source of supply. Besides being used for storage, when laid out flat on your front deck it might be what you're looking for. A-Jay
  6. That's great to hear - but not be a surprise. Regardless of the model, using the gear responsibly and maintaining it usually results in plenty of faithful service. A-Jay
  7. I own several models of Quantum reels and I am a fan. Though I do not own that particular reel, the Kinetic model is a mid to lower level quality reel. Doesn't mean it's a bad product but like anything you have to expect that a certain level of performance will come with a reel sold in a plastic bubble wrap and carrying a lower price tag. At that level, models from most companies are designed and built with components that match the price they ask for them. You simply have to decide what you want and what you're willing you pay for it. A-Jay
  8. With no children in the house and very few if any "visitors", we keep it quite accessible and only a pump away from "Here Comes the Boom". A-Jay
  9. We went Vintage Newspaper ~ btw - did they have cameras way back then? A-Jay

  11. Man, TW is certainly getting a boat load of Free Press and High Praise here. And deservedly so - they know what we need and routinely work hard to keep us happy. Why aren't they a BR sponsor again ? A-Jay

  17. I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but there is a huge upside from spending a day on the water with an experienced Guide. It's one thing to watch a video and read about something - however, working for 6-8 hours with an angler who can Show you certain techniques - is a very good way to learn. Good Luck A-Jay

OK - so they showed up today - and it's pretty big as far as crankbaits go. When compared to a 5 & 6xd it looks quite sizable. Next to the 6 inch Bull Shad - not so much. The photo is - Top to Bottom: 5XD - 6XD -10XD - 6inch Bull Shad - 10XD - 6XD A-Jay
  20. OK - Good Tip. Long Mike is smiling right now. A-Jay

  22. No - It's all good. I like to fish visible man made structure myself - No doubt it produces. I do understand that during the planning phase, there is now way to predict where the fish will be. But If A-Jay was selecting the venue - I'd try to select one that has a variety of conditions throughout the lake, but separated by "zones". Hopefully there would be a better opportunity for the anglers to utilize alternate techniques. You have to admit - it seemed like the anglers themselves were getting tired of flipping the same 50 docks over and over and over and over . . . . . . . . . A-Jay
  23. CCW is a different issue and one that does not comes into play here for us. There are many reasons why this was our choice, here are some of the more important ones; Hands down the shotgun has the most stopping power. The shotgun creates a spread of shot multiple inches in diameter but generally one shot placed center mass is more than enough to stop an intruder. This model has a short 18 inch barrel, so it's easily maneuverable up close. Shotshells are relatively in expensive for practice rounds, but defense loads is a little more spendy, running a little more than handgun ammo on average, but not by much. Shotguns also rarely, if ever, jam. I respect others who have a different view, but I'm not looking to debate it here. A-Jay
  24. I believe over all it was an entertaining event to watch and I'm already looking forward to the next one. I will say however, that I am really hoping that whatever body of water they choose to hold the next one on - Please select one Completely Void of DOCKS. A-Jay
