Stihl Br 600 Magnum
Past few years (as well as at my last property) I did the Tarp deal. I Raked them onto the tarp and then used a small tractor to haul them off the property to be dumped back in the woods. It was an effective but very laborious process. The Back pack blower IS the way to go - at least for me. A-Jay

Stihl Br 600 Magnum
I hear ya, I can't vouch for the that older model, but this one is Beast of a blower. This was my first Fall season using it. Not cheap by any means, but it came with an extended warranty, the Dealer is close and does in house (factory Trainer) repairs, so I expect to have quite a bit more fishing time each fall. A-Jay

Jig Trailer Size?
Pork has long been a productive trailer choice. It's effective in any water temp but often shines in colder water. Uncle Josh has recently introduced a new version of an old favorite. Their "Meat" trailer provides a soft but tougher than plastic trailer. I've been using this with good success. If you plan of keeping the baits wet, one bait will last several fish and many trips. Lake Erie Smallies
Had an opportunity to spend a week fishing with Dwight in and around the Presque Isle Bay area of Lake Erie. Good times were had by all. The weather started out pretty dicey the first few days and we were bobbing & weaving to stay ahead of some of those famous Big Lake fronts. As the week progressed the weather improved. In fact, it actually got too nice. The sun was beaming and it warmed the water up a little each day; not what we were hoping for. Rigged up with an assortment of jerk baits, our intentions were to cover water and we stuck to the plan. The Smallies seemed to be around bait and there was plenty of it throughout the water column from 12 – 30 ft. Dwight was the hot stick early on (big surprise) as he landed several very nice smb and a couple of bonus Lake Trout as well. Several brown bass in the 5lb category and one in the mid 6lb range, really healthy looking too. I explained that I was just pacing myself, you know, being a gracious guest. Soon I got my rhythm going and started putting a few respectable fish in the net myself; including my first lake trout and a couple of very nice steelhead (that both played possum until they got to the boat) and many 3, 4 & almost 5lb smb. Despite getting blown off the water a couple of times, our best 5 fish bag went 25-10 and we did manage 2 other days with 5 fish going a little over 23lbs. I feel like we really earned each and every fish as there was no real pattern to our bites. Each day was very different and we found and caught bass at various depths and on different baits. We had to keep changing things up to get bit; but when we had the right bait in the water, it didn’t take long. Picking the right bait is an area that my host is very good at. Below is the link to a gallery of photos showing some of the better fish we caught – come on April. A-Jay http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/gallery/album/530-lake-erie-october-2012/

Money
I view financial miscues the same way I look at (and hope to Learn from) all of forks in the road of my life. And I try not to repeat them. Several years back I purchased a Power Tech Home Gym. By committing to invest in me, I was able to improve several aspects of my life in a positive way. I highly recommend it. A-Jay

Bonus Fish
Yup ~ That's when, after a hammer of a strike and some very big weight on the hook set, we eventually learn to say (usually out loud, even when we're alone) - "If this is a Bass . . . . it's big" and then we get bit off. A-Jay
