Preparing your body for a 6 day (ten hour days) tournament
I buy in bulk and have a tricky little deal I came up with a while ago. btw amazon has decent prices in name brand supplements. I use this specific brand and container and it has to be the 2.2 lb jug. https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Nutrition-Micronized-Creatine-Production/dp/B0CWMDFCGX/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1YYSLZEX3Z8N1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.IW4Ty8LCCTYy5GZc6NL4P2W6_qJuIXTbWwzNIZsNRwLgD-oxNwqe-o0nYhTP-z45RBlYaJtj1J0_Ao1kkXmVBLveZ5FEQWBiyurTsfHxpRc99FyRRes2Jq-J_4_P7x4vP7I5qHK3zKNd_TKa26KolM-49C_KeIy57DIyTOMuBj0c9bXqMAOX4pvKgpflY7SxLViUSRZLW5a5bl1jqbK3nofoh1BaWyxnRfwlagElxI9j7uBEcaLsMqNEY_MifEZI8QIKYk6ktb5f2e5CfSiUrnnuHW_ekCNzzX-0wwDV-QA.uYdPNtTgwrKX0h5tG6_BKgxts0RHuY-buMejDR3VYgs&dib_tag=se&keywords=now+creatine&qid=1721827520&sprefix=now+creatine%2Caps%2C121&sr=8-6 Once it's gone and from then on, I buy this one below which is the same serving 200 size but less Cash. I pour it into the above container which is easier to use and seals better than the bag deal with the zip lock closure. It's a tight fit but it's full. tip - only cut a corner off the bag to pour it onto the jug, less waste. https://www.amazon.com/BULKSUPPLEMENTS-COM-Creatine-Monohydrate-Powder-Supplement/dp/B00E9M4XEE/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=1QTD0HBDFD511&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Mt0NqMvDxkWbPGs4ooMBN61s55rNc1_IrVGthViUOG-s-gTPYngxz5nqIELno4fBuPAIEQB5ofhuwjMVvJL3UhQyuV7G5SPatp5VXc3yZyBqhRjsA8ymLnJf9AlavzfVwg1xDswrZ7ctYbPIMDlPsDw6sCbvc-7If8omDpfKvK5QVncZspVa8Knfa6nbOpNHNu1EOvRU6kcCZjQ-TmEhNqARFbgXDAYzaIjEL8FhNF-L4JLYBHXPJgSQMFk6PPaa4LrEtXnM-6MXCVEGadGJxeFFtcfP5YrehyqHhTCjgIQ.dPifjJH7DUmXwRlFi8xQBE2Z4FxI50r97y5DpJciM2I&dib_tag=se&keywords=creatine+monohydrate&qid=1721827612&sprefix=creatine%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-5 Good Luck A-Jay

The decline of our lakes.
Anything is possible. However, for more reasons than I'm willing to go into here, I don't see it happening here in the next 10-15 years. Which is probably just about all I'll have left. If I'm lucky. A-Jay

The decline of our lakes.
The decline of lakes - must be a real thing as it's a often a recent topic of conversation here and in other formats. But like so many deals fishing, location and timing plays such a huge role. I can say that I have personally Not seen a decline in habits or the quality of fishing in very many lakes I fish here. The one caveat to that is when they chose to kill the weeds on a lake, and they have on at least two or three, I never fish it again. Because it's just never the same again. Luckily I have plenty of water to chose from. A-Jay

Preparing your body for a 6 day (ten hour days) tournament
I've been taking it DAILY for 30 plus years. Here's why ~ Creatine is a compound that comes from three amino acids. Creatine is found mostly in your body's muscles as well as in the brain. Most people get creatine through seafood and red meat — though at levels far below those found in synthetically made creatine supplements. The body's liver, pancreas and kidneys also can make about 1 gram of creatine per day. Your body stores creatine as phosphocreatine primarily in your muscles, where it's used for energy. As a result, people take creatine orally to improve athletic performance and increase muscle mass. People also use oral creatine to treat certain brain disorders, neuromuscular conditions, congestive heart failure and other conditions. Topical creatine might be used to treat aging skin. What the research says Research on creatine use for specific activities and conditions shows: Strength, muscle size and performance. Oral creatine use might allow an athlete to do more work during reps or sprints, leading to greater gains in strength, muscle mass and performance. Creatine is often used by athletes involved in high-intensity intermittent activities that require a rapid recovery during training and competition. Injury prevention. Oral creatine might reduce the frequency of dehydration, muscle cramping, and injuries to the muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Rare creatine-metabolizing syndromes. In children with the certain creatine deficiency syndromes, oral creatine supplements might improve some symptoms. Cognition and brain health. Creatine supplementation might improve performance during cognitive tasks, especially in older adults. Sarcopenia and bone health. Creatine supplementation might help counteract age-related declines in skeletal muscle and bone mineral density. Heart failure. There isn't enough evidence to recommend use of oral creatine as a heart failure treatment. Skin aging. Early research suggests that a cream containing creatine and other ingredients applied to the face every day for six weeks might reduce skin sag and wrinkles in men. Another study suggests that a cream containing creatine and folic acid improves sun damage and reduces wrinkles. People who have low levels of creatine — such as vegetarians — appear to benefit most from creatine supplements. YMMV A-Jay

Persistence if you know a fish is there?
Most times I'll continue to revisit a spot a few times through a trip to try and get a biter. But every once in a while I'll camp out and try a few different presentations to see if that will work. It did on this fat brown bass. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Back around to Workout Day 1 this morning. Feeling a little stronger every day but I'm in no hurry to rush myself back and straight into another injury. Baby Steps Bob. Maintaining the self discipline to keep my diet clean while getting sufficient sleep, regardless of the copious amounts of stress flowing up in here, is a big deal as well. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/sLtqESfxdGw?feature=shared A-Jay

Bacarrac info/help
We stay at Lake Baccarac Lodge. They provide the guides and yes they do pick you up at the airport if you fly commercial air. There is also a private air option where you are flown directly fm the US to the air strip close to the lodge. (still have to clear customs in Mexico first though) We use that although it's more $$$. We use own own gear - you can rent rods at the lodge if you want The lake is a deep mountain lake made when they flooded several towns. 25 miles long and five miles wide and is 30,000 acres at full pool. There's NO Mapping available for it other than paper maps which are more like a reference than something I would ever consider using for actual navigation. Water levels fluctuate WILDLY through the season and fall over 50-60 feet just about every year. It's a ROCK LAKE I say again IT'S A ROCK lake - no soft bottom anywhere. Depths can and do go from 100 ft to 1 foot in a 10 feet span and without any warning. Only cover is lure eating, bait grapping trees - that cut heavy FC like a hot knife through butter. Fish use them but it's a sketchy deal getting them out of there. Water has a green tint so visibility is usually 1 foot or less. Local guides know the lake well. I would NEVER consider operating my rig there without someone on board who knew the lake - you will hit something - only a matter of time. And there's No repair shop in the Mexico Mountains. Either way, the big bass fishing's usually pretty good. A-Jay

Bittersweet Breakoff
Bummer. Nothing more final than broken line. I've landed a few respectable fish with M spinning gear, trick for me is having a plan and never get in a hurry. Also, I don't use it around hard cover. Hope you get another shot at that one or at the very least, one just like her. A-Jay

Coping with chronic heart ache ~
Thank you both very much and I know you're right. I'm good. She would never let me come home to anything less than her best effort and I am obliged to do the same. She did her part in getting healed enough to come back to me. Which pales in comparison to whatever I do here. Life is the Ultimate Challenge. A-Jay

Coping with chronic heart ache ~
21 July ~ JUST found out Lynn is coming Home To-Day. I'm both wildly excited and quite apprehensive, but we'll get through it. Mean while, guess who is blasting around trying to getting 'the house ready' for her return ? This Guy ! I've got about 6 hours, and the dogs are not helping. Hope I make it . . . . . . Thank you all very much for the support. A-Jay

Thank you, BassResource
Hello Al ~ I know I'm not the only one who is glad to hear that you are making it happen. I've been here a while, and this forum is my church. Outstanding Membership included. Your passage quoted above is both insightful and IMO, the captures the very essence of what Bass Resources is all about. Fish Had A-Jay

Re-Wrapping Guides on an Old Rod (DIY)
While just yellowing may not be important it might not be showing up in the before pic, the original flexcoat was cracking, especially on the smaller guides (not pictured) So having the finish failing in my book certainly can compromise structural integrity. Besides, I have 5 months of hard water here a year. Keeps me busy. Btw, 4 years later, that very same stick helped me put this pig in the net. A-Jay

Frogs - what am I doing wrong??
@Fisholder7 Let's be redundant. Your gear lacks the horse power to hook the bass that strike. You are essentially using Ultra Light Frog fishing tackle. As it's been so astootly noted above, A heavier rod and heavier braid are the way to go when throwing old Kermit, Regardless of the size of the bass. Good Luck. 🐸 A-Jay
