  1. Knowledge & experience breeds confidence. Confidence to select a craft that can safely be operated in the conditions that one is routinely likely to want to fish in. Confidence to know when the conditions exceed the limitations of the operator & or the vessel. And then the confidence to manage challenging situations safely while having some of the best fishing you might ever encounter. Fishing in some wind can be good, bad, and even very ugly. I live & fish on water that has plenty of wind. Admittedly, it is far more comfortable to fish in calm conditions. My personal hope in the wind is that I need to be able to be safe and also be able to present my baits effectively. So when the wind and waves get up, I just bite the bullet, put my head down, and cast. Because that's when the real magic can happen. https://youtu.be/W2jqCf7BVAE Stay Safe A-Jay
  2. 31 Days and a wake up and I was sort of hoping I'd be a little closer to what is happening in that first Pic. Sadly, this is what I was doing today. The prospect of open water locally in April is looking like a pipe dream at this point. A-Jay
  3. Get it while it's hot ! See every fish in real-time with the game-changing ShredScope. Our revolutionary forward-facing sonar reel features a built-in screen that lets you pinpoint monster fish and perfect your presentation. 🤓 A-Jay
  4. Works for me on multiple devices. Not sure what's going on. A-Jay
  5. So January has like 75 days now ? https://www.facebook.com/reel/1997786587837988/ 😁 A-Jay
  6. As predicted, Northern Michigan is closed. Several miles of highway, certainly all the secondary roads and everything that is run by people. (except my snowblower of course.) Although it's hard to know for sure with the overnight 40-plus mph winds and drifting that caused. I'd say we're looking at another 12-20 inches on top of what we got two days ago. Can't even tell I blasted that way (still glad I did though). The finishing touch is the solid inch of ice capping it all off. Dogs were sliding on top of it during this morning's constitutional. Isn't sleet just the best thing ever ? Looks like this one might take some extra time, so I'm stepping out now to get a head start. A-Jay
  7. @shimmy you old dawg. Good to see you back here again. Those TX bass might not know it yet, but they are in big trouble now. Don't be a stranger. Stay safe A-Jay
  8. I need to guess which lake to fish, when to go, which bait to throw and where to cast. Once I get all that right, I'm done guessing. A-Jay
  9. Workout Day 2 ~ My old man back was barking at me when I got up this morning. Aftermath of some serious snow removal operations yesterday. It kind of ticked me off just enough to get me to grind through this training. Looking forward to my day off tomorrow. There's already more snow out there, but it's not going anywhere. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  10. Here's a little friendly advice from a very amateur content creator. First off, the journey can be rewarding. However, IMO, it requires focusing on intrinsic joy over immediate growth. Creating content that you genuinely enjoy making and watching is essential; if you wouldn't watch your own video, it is difficult to maintain the passion required to succeed, often causing many to burn out trying to chase views. Starting out solely for views is a tough road, as it often leads to low-quality content and lack of consistency. Genuine passion drives consistency, helps me improve, and builds a stronger community. When I enjoy the process, I create better, more authentic content, allowing me to turn a hobby into a fulfilling creative outlet. Bottom line: make stuff you like to watch while staying true to yourself. In 15 years, I've posted over a thousand videos. Views are pretty minimal. Not doing it to make money. Good Luck A-Jay
  11. @king fisher Sincerely hope your treatment and recovery go well and exactly as planned. A-Jay
  12. I am pretty sure that when the local forecast is predicting snow totals using feet instead of inches, we're getting buried. #snowmagetion2026 ☹️ A-Jay
  13. It's still only March. Local action is a ways off for this guy. It's easy for me to know because today I was doing this, so . . . . . https://www.facebook.com/reel/1469284261556816/ A-Jay
  14. The cleanup of round one went well. Standing by for round 2 and this one’s forecast to be a real doozy ! https://www.facebook.com/life.at.the.45th.parallel/posts/pfbid02a3sDXdoWrU1jobJC9gS47M8Udp9yEDB7FfrsMqneHPhXwNsGu2hswsw3m5tDKhtl A-Jay
  15. Workout Day 1 ~ Took my scheduled two days off plus an extra one to prepare for the 2 feet of snow we're getting this weekend. Training went OK. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

  17. If this weekend's forecast is even half right, we are going to get hammered with snow. Like 1-3 inches an hour type stuff—it's a little nuts. Not even going to post the NWS graphic. It's too ugly. 😐 A-Jay
  18. You plyometric training studs are a lot braver than I am. At this point, ballistic and/or impact-type resistance movements are my arch enemy. Way too much risk for injury for this guy. Train Hard, Smart & Safe. A-Jay
  19. Maybe don't use my local Arctic like weather as a barometer for anything except perhaps Siberia and Crazy Town. 🙃 A-Jay
  20. Agreed ~ at 66 myself, I do most of my jerkbait work with spinning gear. Have been for years. I got the P5 mostly to give my right wrist / arm a break a few times a day. We'll see how it goes. Sure feels good casting in the snow. 🙂 A-Jay
  21. We're getting blasted again this weekend. So glad I just stocked up on all the lawn fertilizer for the summer and there's a new set of trailer tires for the Pro-V Bass coming tomorrow. Timing is everything. 🥶 A-Jay
  22. LOL You are a very naughty boy ~ A-Jay

@FryDog62 I am very sorry to hear about your wife & son. Hoping for the best for them. Not even sure what else to say. We spend plenty of time in places where ticks live. They are a part of life here. We have no secret to preventing them because I do not believe one actually exists. Taking all the precautionary measures already mentioned above helps. Early detection is key. Having the proper tool and knowledge to remove them correctly from both humans & animals (if you have them) can be essential. I would routinely make an attempt at some comical type remark about how many ticks we have here. Seems wildly inappropriate now, and I apologize deeply for my previous indiscretions. Stay Safe A-Jay
