BPT - Stage One
2 lb minimum in the Knockout Round today. I like that. A-Jay

What on your boat makes your life easier?
None. I am certain that the distance between the trailer bunk support mounts on the trailer plays a huge role right there. If you're trailer is supporting your rigs weight effectively now, there's no reason to believe that will be different with the bunk change. Mine did not. All Good. Helpful tip - I 'wipe off' the bunks before I load the boat on the trailer every time. Always surprised how much grit & grime collect on them just sitting in the parking lot. Happens with carpeted bunks as well. Difference is all that mess 'hides' in the carpet fibers. You'll find out if & when you change them out. It's really quite extensive. A-Jay

Its starting to get to me...
I still have something like 8 weeks left. However I do take solace in the fact that under all that ice & snow the Brown Bass are just getting bigger & bigger. And are for the most part, completely unmolested the entire time. As long as I can stay strong (and not pull a "Here's Johnny!") I will be hunting those 'mothers' down as soon as there is open water. Stay strong bassheads. A-Jay

BPT - Stage One
Well that one's in the books. Congrats to the anglers above the cut. Bummer for the rest of the field. Fun to watch. Some Hammers will be wetting a line Tomorrow Forecast looks OK. A mainly sunny sky. High near 70F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph A-Jay

BPT - Stage One
Right at 30 minutes left in Qualifying – Day 2 - Group B - Period 3 Top spot looks locked up by The Milkman. But there's plenty of drama at that 20th spot cut line. Going down to the wire. A-Jay

What on your boat makes your life easier?
I have a few 'modifications' that I've made that have helped improve my rig. Some are sort of specific to my boat I guess. However, something that is not but has been a huge help, is I replaced my carpeted Trailer bunks with composite units. https://www.ultimatebunkboards.com/ Boat is Super Easy both on & off the trailer. Sort of a big deal as I am fishing solo most all the time. https://youtu.be/h3kMaYvtQOE A-Jay

A-Jay's 4th Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
A pleasant February day is in northern Michigan with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 20s this afternoon. Looking ahead, multiple rounds of accumulating snow are on the horizon. The best chances for accumulating snow will come Wednesday evening into Thursday morning, and then again on Friday. All of that is better than the 20 & 30 below zero we've been dining on recently. Been watching this past few days ~ Have to admit that I'm mostly tired of hearing every angler complain about how tough the bite is. Just fish. A-Jay

How well do You deal with getting skunked?

How well do You deal with getting skunked?
I noted in @Mobasser "success" thread that my true measure of success, only happens a few times each season and has to equate to trophy brown bass. So while getting a few smaller fish is totally cool, and way better than not being able to put anything together to generate even a single bite, 'getting skunked' is part of this for me. Some trips I go out totally expecting to get blanked, especially when I'm in RECON mode. When this happens, I do not consider that time a failure, per se. Instead it's merely a stepping stone. Just one more day closer to the parade. Because as long as I keep my head down and fish hard, it's just a matter of time. A-Jay
