  5. Winter still being winter with more very cold temps and lake effect snow today. Wind chills of -10 to -20° tonight/Saturday morning…with the coldest wind chills across the inland portions of northern lower Michigan. Chances of more widespread snow and lake effect returns Saturday afternoon as a cold front passes through northern Michigan and renewed colder weather on north-northwesterly winds that will produce more lake effect. Meanwhile it's Fish Catch Friday ~ This very stout smallie hit way out on the end of a long cast. 9 weeks, 5 days & a wake up . . . A-Jay

  7. Yup - I'm still trying to adapt to watching guys stare at FFS ALL DAY. A-Jay
  8. I use a Frabil 9510 - which is extendable but I rarely use that feature. Generally I fish alone, and every decent fish is netted, always a one handed deal. I've gotten fairly adept at it. A rubber bag can be added to most any net that doesn't come with it, But it will add some weight and make the process a bit harder. Tried the rubber net. I'd say I am at least average strength for my age, but the rubber was far to heavy for my one handed deal and made the process very cumbersome. Changed it back to the original net and haven't looked back. This is the model net I been using for several years now. 9. One's reproductive parts don't generally dictate where effort can, should and needs be applied. Unless one prefers living in squaller. Like @MN Fisher, My wife has been dealing with serious health concerns for a long time. Classified as 100% disabled (although she may not 'look it'), so she does what she can. I do the rest. If the roles were reversed, she'd do it for me. #marriagevowsrule A-Jay

  11. Have to laugh how some of these guys are 'bundled up'. It's 60 degrees there ! C'Mon Man ! A-Jay
  12. Soon to be Deep Purple ~ #machinehead A-Jay
  13. In calm conditions, yes. Anything past a gentle breeze, My rig will still spin or 'weather vane' so the stern is facing the wind/waves; especially over a harder bottom. The 25 inch transom helps deflect some of the splash back but I still get a decent amount when it's a little sporty. @Senko'em Fishing off the back of my rig with twin 12 ft Talons and the 200 hp ProXS is not the best deal. I do it when I have to but it's usually a last resort. So A Talon and Two Motors may be the same type of situation. A-Jay
  14. If launching your drop shot into orbit is the goal, I'd drop down to an 8 or 10 lb braid mainline and pump up your drop shot weight to at least a 1/4 oz. Is doubling your casting distance actually going to improve your catches that much ? A-Jay
  15. Depending on depth & bottom composition, one Talon will 'hold' the boat in that spot. But wind, waves and any current will have the boat 'spinning' on that single shaft. Two unit's reduces this quite a bit. A-Jay
  16. My standard 'way' to fish tubes is the same regardless of depth - I fish them like a jerkbait. Meaning there's a couple of twitches & a pause. How many twitches & how long a pause can be dictated by the water temp and the mood of the fish. I might keep a tube moving along with a series of twitches where the bait travels 2-3 inches, pauses for a split second and then moves another 2-3 inches - I may continue this for 4-5 feet and then pause . . . . . . for like 10 seconds . . . . . . and then do it again. Of course, the old stand-by of 'drag & stop' can be all one needs to do to get a savage take. There's also what's often referred to as "Snapping a Tube", where a heavier head is used and the bait is literally 'snapped' 3-5 feet off the bottom and then allowed to fall back on a slack line. The tube will spiral back down to the bottom - which is where the vast majority of the strikes will come from. Can be deadly but will also twist the heck out of your line - I'll often use a small swivel to help with that when doing this. A-Jay
  17. Tilt brackets & spacers for me A-Jay
  18. Nicely Done Sir. Way to set the standard. Stay Safe A-Jay
  19. Good one ~ That's going to be tough to beat. I'll admit, I do prefer if you do win it all. #ironballs Those are the temps where stuff will break & Fail just because it's that cold. Hate that. Stay Warm A-Jay
  20. Artic Blast over this way as well. Very cold wind chills are expected tonight into Wednesday morning across upper Michigan. Wind chills may drop to 30 below or colder. We will be sure to limit any time we (and the dogs) spend outdoors. A-Jay
  21. After my scheduled day off, Total Body #1 this morning. Put the emphasis on using strict form in this one. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  22. I added it above but just cut him loose. Fending for oneself is a great motivator. So is living under a bridge. A-Jay
  23. ^^^^ Yes. Always looking for a few good men. Vastly different culture in the service. Often does a body good. Best kept secret in this great country. https://www.gocoastguard.com/about-the-coast-guard/discover-our-roles-missions BTW- Children need motivation. Men motivate themselves. Stop letting him 'come home'. Cut him loose. #stopenabling A-Jay
