  1. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  2. That is exactly why I have the unit I have - not interested in shoveling that mess. This machine is a beast and has yet to meet its match - and there's been plenty of opportunities. https://youtu.be/zl0DDZEBbKk A-Jay
  3. You bet there's Problems Big Brown ones ~ j/k No problems at all. I hate the clam packing and remove every bait from them. Including all things Rage . . . A-Jay
  4. Awesome Fish ! What a way to start the year, a Double Digit Donkey Congrats A-Jay
  5. Great Bass Congrats on the new Personal Best. Now go staple your scale to your forehead. A-Jay
  6. We have lots of 'yellow slush' up this way ~ We don't eat it A-Jay
  7. Yes there certainly is a saying - and it's very technical too. We call that Slush . . . A-Jay
  8. Thanks A-Jay
  9. My rig is Not a speed demon by any stretch, especially by today's standards. But she'll get me where I want to go in a safe & timely manner. When the 'juice' is several miles away and or spots are some distance apart across open water, I can certainly appreciate that. However, beating the boat and my myself up just to get there doesn't happen in my world. The difference between 35 mph and 55 mph can seems pretty dramatic. I'll usually run my rig almost as fast as I can safely go. Good Times. https://youtu.be/cCE7y_0QlVU?t=292 A-Jay
  10. I hear that ~ While the Scounger is a player for me south of the border, I haven't had any in my rig to fish locally in a couple of years now. But the swingheads get wet, and quite a bit. Wrote this one mostly for northwoods brown bass but it might help. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/211811-brown-bass-tools-~-questions-answers/?do=findComment&comment=2467689 A-Jay
  11. Total Body Workout #2 ~ This one always feels like a grind. A-Jay
  12. First off, I have no problem declaring that @Catt is 'several levels' beyond me in experience & skill; especially when it comes to night ops. That said, I think many bassheads would be surprised to know that when it comes to determining what my baits doing, as well as detecting a bite, I almost never watch my line. Day or night (obviously) Some of that comes from a few decades of doing this, as well as from fishing at night; in both the saltwater & sweet water arena. While I'm trying to be observant and aware of everything within my sight & hearing, staring at my line just has never been part of my deal. And still, I get a few now & then. A-Jay
  13. Mercury's sagging to - 10 here this morning ~ adding the wind chill certainly get my attention. Dangerously cold wind chills of 30 below zero or colder are expected again across eastern upper this morning. Wind chills of ten to twenty below zero are anticipated for those across northern lower. I'll be hiding down in the tackle room all day today. A-Jay
  14. Lucky 7 for me ~ Alpha Rods Fenwick Quantum St Croix Diawia Shimano And one sweet custom spun up on a Rain Shadow blank Thank You Bass Resource https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/190905-a-special-announcement/?do=findComment&comment=2156257 A-Jay
  15. Fish Catch Friday ~ Best Brown Bass of last season. Cast to Catch . . . . 11 Weeks, 5 Days & a Wake Up A-Jay
  16. Total Body #1~ All about cranking out the reps this morning. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  17. Nope ~ I retired almost 15 years ago 47. I fish when I want (weather & Ops permitting) but do prefer quality trips over going every day just to go. When the bites right, I'm there. If not, I'm content to wait until conditions improve. However, my open water season is WAAAAAAAAY to short to ever get tired of it. Besides, the scenery alone is often worth the price of admission . . . . Fish Hard A-Jay
  18. Ok - I'll tag you in one tomorrow. The 2 malamtues get the puppy room all to themselves. Kya & Tank patrol the rest of the dwelling. A-Jay
  19. Yes they do - In the winter the inside of the kennel stays @ 20 degrees warmer than the outside ambient temp most of the time. And while the dog houses inside each run are insulated, heated, and sitting on 1 inch thick rubber horse mats, (pic below) big winds can cool it down a little bit more. So we bring them in. It's the one time they actually like staying in the house. They use the puppy room downstairs, which they completely fill up. A-Jay
  20. OK this is not funny any more and getting serious now. Very cold wind chills will return to northern Michigan starting tonight behind an Arctic front. Wind chills may plummet to 30 below zero or colder across parts of eastern upper. But it's not new A-Jay
  21. Yes ~ And although Tax Fraud may be what all the cool kids do, deliberately misrepresenting my actions to the Internal Revenue Service, doesn't sound like a good plan to me. YMMV A-Jay
  22. A foot sounds good right about now. How about I trade you some cold for some snow ? At least you won't have to shovel the cold After a brief reprieve for midweek, a cold air mass looks to settle into the Great Lakes for the end of the week. Wind chills will be -10 to -30F Thursday and Friday night, with Friday night/Saturday morning being the coldest. A-Jay
  23. A-Jay replied to Unk's topic in Introductions

  24. Sweet ~ I say just shave that dome & be done with it ! A-Jay
