  1. Sorry to hear you were hurt but glad to know you're back on the mend. Trying to "Burn" Calories never worked for me - tried for a long time. I Ran, I Biked, I lived a very active lifestyle. My job was very demanding physically. Then I figured out I was over eating, I would have needed to jump rope up & over MT Kilimanjaro twice a day to burn off just half of what I was stuffing in the pie hole. So I stopped eating so much. This DID Work for me. Eating more of the good stuff and less or none of the what wasn't helping me, did the trick. So when I'm exercising portion control and having 4 or 5 (up to 6 now) small balanced meals a day, and I mean small, I can control my body fat without ever doing a LICK of Cardio. #notreadmill The single best advice I can offer to anyone who is 'trying to lose weight" is If you're not hungry 24/7, you're heading the wrong way. There's just no way around it - and it needs to be that way forever. Might be tough to hear or even understand, but that's the deal IMO. A-Jay
  2. I've not weighed it, but it's got to be pretty stupid. Getting less & less each season now, which is probably a good thing. Still, I bet I have 18 lbs of Zakos in the boat right now. A-Jay
  3. Thank you for the support - I certainly appreciate it. I hear ya on the power lifting deal. We do what we can do and we're both so much better for it. I just want this training to support my life. So making these workouts every other day, the hardest thing I do, grocery shopping & putting out the trash can should be a piece of cake. Off day tomorrow A-Jay
  4. I vote for M/F ~ But I do not vote for fishing a blade bait through soft cover (grass). You'll spend your entire day cleaning off your bait and probably not getting bites. Wood's not that good either - snag city. Baits shine on cleaner bottoms - sand, gravel even a few rocks is OK. A-Jay
  5. Total Body # 2 this morning. Step Back Lunges with a knee up & ankle weights had me grinding pretty good. As a 'veteran' resistance trainer, there's a fine line between pushing it and blowing something up. Not a fan of the later. #borninfiftynne #fitforlife A-Jay
  6. Yes - and come in a couple of different sizes https://www.rapidfishingsolutions.com/products/line-clips/ btw - a short section of pipe cleaner does the same thing and you can use it to fish the line through the rod guides when it's time. #cheaperandeffective A-Jay
  7. Like many of us that are so privileged to endure the hard water season, I'll clean and do maintenance on rods, reels & tackle. Once that's done I usually do some chart study on a few new bodies of water I may or may not visit. And not too long after we have open water, a jerkbait & a vibrating jig has been tough to beat. My one two punch for water temps under 50 degrees. Last April started off pretty good. https://youtu.be/zIqCmH_52IQ?t=387 Fish Hard A-Jay

  12. Having never used or even seen any of the LIVE units, I am vicariously subjected to the findings of those who've fished with them. Without and before the LIVE unit info was available, my opinion on this would most likely still be on the low side. Just not sure I would be willing to go down into the single digits, although I have no doubt the Live Scopers (new term, look at that) are right on the money. However, when hunting for the size of brown bass that easily contains the smallest number in any system, believing that 95 % of the fatties I somehow manage to get a bait in front of, will have lockjaw, is depressing and hard to digest, even if it is true. Might explain some things though. Fish Hard A-Jay
  13. Agreed ~ And so going the other way might not be helpful sales wise. Attaching names to rods like; Skunk Stick The Zero Hero The Snagmaster Dinkfest or even perhaps Not Gonna Happen A-Jay
  14. And speaking of 'nestled' - The Owner ST-35 is The Deal when it comes to hanging up close to the body of the bait. Been using these for a while now - Big Fan. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Short_Shank_Treble_Hook_ST-35/descpage-OSSF.html (watch the videos to get a better idea of the actual difference it makes) A-Jay
  15. Cool ~ Guess I should have @bait__Monkey Won't forget next time. It's not like you owe me or anthing.... A-Jay
  16. Performed a gravity test this morning. Yup - still there. A-Jay

  18. Braid, pretty much forever. FC, several years but knot check it if you've got a question. Mono - I use new every season or two - it's cheaper. As for skirt bands, just drop a small zip tie right beside the band and then cut off the band. That zip tie will last at least a season and you can do the same thing again when needed. A-Jay
  19. Killer. Bet your looking forward to bringing this whole deal to the beach then. A-Jay
  20. Always hard to tell in the pics, but your first obstacle might be line drag. A couple of hundred yards of line (regardless of the type) from the reel to the bait in the boat is heavy and it's going to want to pull the bait off the boat. You'll need to 'secure' it with something that can also break away when the time comes. Light rubber bands perhaps ? Might be some trial & error once you're at the beach and launching this rig; unless you know someone who's got that perfected. A-Jay
  21. IME, throwing spinnerbaits for brown bass is all about Speed. Here a little more info . . . https://youtu.be/Z95g3H4qmp0?t=83 https://youtu.be/frJAlndpO7E A-Jay
  22. Sweet ~ Justification at last. And here I was thinking I must have a major personality flaw. (besides the constantly working out thing) A-Jay
  23. That kind of scratch is 'at least' 3 trips to Mexico ! And I'm not ready to call changing out the electronic with the new stuff a waste, but I'm not sure it would 'improve' my fishing enough to justify the cost. At least right now anyway. Now if the bait monkey were to mysteriously install it all under the cover of darkness, I could be good with that. A-Jay
  24. Giant ! She hasn't missed too many meal opportunities. Congrats to JJ ~ again A-Jay
