  1. Hard to say, general consensus may be to consider down sizing your presentations a bit, make long casts, stay off the structure, cover & fish more than perhaps you're used to, and remember the fish will be getting a very good look at your bait. Calm can be tough, some wind is usually better, and if the conditions allow it, a little speed might not be a bad thing. Otherwise break out the Ned rig and the Drop shot. Good Luck. A-Jay
  2. I have success with both But I fish the Zako 3 to 1 over the SK bait. So I catch more with that one. A-Jay
  3. Like any bait - they have a time & place when they get bites. These are decent SK Blade minnow & a Zako May have to fish them a bit to figure what that's like where you fish. Either way, Perhaps consider removing the shirt, repainting the bait head from white to black with some cheap fingernail polish and putting a green pumpkin skirt on it. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DIRTYJIGS.html?from=basres Now you've got your confidence bait for some very short $$$ A-Jay
  4. You could incorporate this band into the wire skirt 'tie' if you felt the need. Just lay the 'legs' of the rattles band along the length of the jig hook with the skirt so that the wraps get both. A-Jay
  5. I added a couple more links to the post. Check it out. I use these and they slide on the jig hook after the skirt (regardless of how it's secured) and before the trailer. A-Jay
  6. Me too - See it here https://youtu.be/S_Owp6ZVN0U?t=1772 A-Jay

  8. When needed, I will often 'lube' them both up a little. The 'tool' and the jig collar. Doesn't take much. Over doing it can make both hard to work with. And a little and I mean a little, Megastrike works well. A-Jay
  9. Here's a bit more info on that video and more specifically, the knot in it. Might want to check it out. https://youtu.be/mZu3gEXOsM4 A-Jay
  10. I like both these offerings from Outkast Tackle & Owner. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Outkast_Tackle_Perfect_Ned_Head_3pk/descpage-OTPN.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Block_Head_Jig_Head/descpage-OBHJ.html A-Jay
  11. My hook, weights, and terminal tackle inventory is ready for the 2021 campaign. Supplemental bulk spool supplies for mainlines & Leaders is also flush. Current Hard, soft, wire and metal bait supplies reflect an effective assortment of colors, sizes and patterns. Tools, scales, net and camera equiptment is totally ready to go. Standard procedure is to update the graphs software right before open water. So as it may seem, I'm Good. A-Jay

  14. I find it hard not to route for Dustin Connell ~ Seems like a grounded young man with a great set of instincts. Perhaps beyond his years. Fun to watch. A-Jay
  15. Yup ~ We wear Kahtoola MICROspikes during this period. Feels like walking on the moon ~ And don't forget . . . "Mud Season" is just a few short weeks away. A-Jay
  16. Canoe because I can bring more gear, I can stand if I choose and I can bring my wife. A-Jay
  17. Do you categorize your PB’s? Yes ~ By color & nationality. A-Jay
  18. What do you say we start our our deal. We'll put a few barrels on all the roller coasters around the world and let them slosh around that way for a year or so. We'll call it - White Knuckle Single Barrel Bourbon. A-Jay
  19. In 2008, while aboard the ship of fellow Kentucky native and OCEARCH founder Chris Fischer, Jefferson’s Master Blender Trey Zoeller got a wild idea. As he and Chris watched the whiskey swirl in their glasses, compelled by the constant rock of the waves, they pondered: what might happen to a barrel of bourbon if it were aged at sea? Soon thereafter, five barrels of straight bourbon whiskey were loaded aboard the MV OCEARCH, and sent on a three-year voyage around the globe. The rest, as they say, is history. The constant movement of the ocean and extreme temperature fluctuations as the OCEARCH traversed the globe completely transformed the whiskey. The result is a hyper-aged, thick, dark bourbon with incredible depth and complexity. The constant agitation and changing climate imparted a sweet, caramelized flavor reminiscent of dark rum, while the salty ocean air and sea spray gave the bourbon the savory, briny character of an Islay Scotch whiskey. Since this discovery, Trey has sent hundreds of barrels around the world, with each voyage seeing (on average) over 25 ports, 5 continents, and 3 equator crossings. This is the best traveled bourbon on earth. A-Jay
  20. In keeping with the theme ~ Knob Creek Small Batch is quite palatable. (I'm getting a little thirsty) A-Jay
  21. Yea - I know. It's a little unusual so I went ahead and posted it. A-Jay
  22. The High Seas has way of doing that ! And I did say 'sip'. A-Jay
  23. I have a close friend who's an admitted Bourbon Snob. But I have occasionally benefitted from that. He turned me on to Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Cask Strength Bourbon. This one is Aged at sea on a huge container vessel. This cask strength bourbon made its stop on five different continents and crossed the equator four times during its journey. So not only is it a great sip, since it's visited more than 30 ports and aged at Sea, it's also a great conversational piece. So you know I have a soft spot for this one. A-Jay
  24. I went out to do the dogs and missed it ! When I left there were only a few minutes left and he was below the cut. What happened ? A-Jay
