  1. Same here ~16 doing the dogs the morning. The Cold Paw was Rampant ! Fenway went down like she was hit by a Sniper . . . Seems funny to say but we're looking forward to the 20's expected later this week #myfaceisfrozen ? A-Jay

  4. I was working at Kelly's Roast Beef on the Beach in Revere, MA. Pretty sure I walked to work a few times during the 2 weeks or so lock down. Ate a lot of Chowdah ~ ! A-Jay They say growing up in the 60's & 70's was wild. But I don't really remember much of it . . . beyond the music. #rockon ? A-Jay
  5. Fortunately, I was not yet employed by Uncle Sam in '78. But I was up to no good and needed a haircut desperately. #zoorat A-Jay
  6. Not sure about predictable - I vaguely recall cursing a few forecasts up off of Boston, Merrimac, Chatham, Cohasset, Scituate, Gloucester, Ipswich, Rye, and Portland. Might be a little snowier though. A-Jay
  7. Nice Bass ~ Congrats Keep your head down. A-Jay
  8. As entertaining as 'my prediction' may have been, there's no way to accurately estimate, earlier or later, which way this is going to go. Very little if anything that happens this entire month ever plays any role in if there's hard or open water in April or May for that matter. Late March's demeanor might affect this whole deal a little. But for my money, it's all about April. A Super mild one, especially early, could open it up and of course, well, I don't even want to discuss the other option. Looking back at my reports, I've had some very special days on the water in April & early May. So I'm just going to do what I can to be ready when the time comes. Is it too early to pack a lunch ? 9. Little nippy up this way as well ~ A-Jay
  10. Yup ~ Seasonal up this way as well ~ Cold temperatures will continue across northern Michigan as wind chills of -20 or below are expected for some across interior portions of the area. But on a brighter not, I haven't seen a mosquito in weeks . . . . . A-Jay
  11. I've been cooped up in this house hiding from the sub-zero temps for so long, I'll laugh at anything at this point . . . shoehorn - LOL LOL LOL LOL Told ya ? A-Jay I hear ya ~ @Team9nine may have said it best. The more you catch the more you'll 'find your way'. A-Jay
  12. Totally agree and I knew that's where / why you went that way. Given the recent discussions, I was unable to exercise the same self-discipline apparently. #soashamed A-Jay
  13. I am So Proud of you right here. Not one mention about back reeling. ? A-Jay
  14. Clearly we all get a little excited when we hook up but playing and landing a bass doesn't need to be 'a race'. In fact in the long run, it may cost you almost as many fish as you land; especially the bigger versions. Perhaps try to pull the fish toward you a little with the rod, while not reeling and then reel in as you lower the rod to gain line. It doesn't need to be in slow motin, just not as fast as humanly possible; unless the bass is swimming right at you. Then Got For It ! Never allow slack, and while the rod and drag absorb some of the fight, stop reeling. Reeling against the drag with spinning gear (meaning reeling even though you're not gaining any line) twists the heck out of your line regardless of what type you are using. This may or may not be how 'the pros' do it but if you continue that technique, you're next post might be about the Giant you lost at your feet. Good Luck A-Jay
  15. I like 'The Names' ~ The Grunt, The Marshall & Full Contact A-Jay
  16. SWEEEEET Rig ! Congrats my friend A-Jay
  17. Perhaps look for sheltered water, closer to some deeper water, that has the sun on it. Stuff facing SE late morning, S mid day and SW later in the afternoon. Mid to late afternoon is often a good bet super early season; once the shallower stuff has a chance to warm up a bit. And don't ignore dark bottom areas as they might be a tick or two warmer, which is often just enough to pull a few fatties in. Good Luck A-Jay
  18. Nice ~ How old is that rig ? A-Jay
  19. I take the easy way out and purchase pre-painted blades. A-Jay
  20. I am very interested (and excited) to check this one out. Really hopeful that this stick is & actually does what Mr Teach talks about in this clip. And it would be nice if St Croix would actually produce enough on the first run to at least come close to the potential demand. Well, at least mine anyway. A-Jay
  21. Ice out you say ~ How about when there is still Ice on the lake ? This clip is from a few seasons back. Ice often 'goes out' over night or all at once, but this particular year it took a couple of days. That was all I needed. Yes, Brown bass will be ready as soon as you can get at them, especially if there's some sunshine. A-Jay
  22. I am a suspend strip/dot user & abuser ~ I say go for it. A-Jay
  23. Is this it ? A-Jay
  24. I think you're right. Bet he's pooping his pants ? A-Jay
