USPS - Beware!!!
I shipped a box a while back to a member here. At this point it's totally lost in USPS Limbo, whatever that means. May never be recovered. It's insured but I'd imagine getting that back may harder be than delivering the box on time. So weak. Glad I lived most of this life when I did. #goingtogetworse A-Jat

Ice out topwater
Ice out topwater is completely unheard of for me. The brown bass I get the first several days and perhaps even a couple of weeks after initial open water, usually pretty deep, sluggish & appear to be moving in slow motion. While it would be very nice to get on something like that, I still get a few decent fish early on. But I have to dress for it, if you know what I mean. A-Jay

After one period of Knockout Round - Group B Mr. Bryan Thrift is in the lead ~ Again I think he's led at the end of every round he's fish during this 2021 RedCrest derby. 11 scorable and creeping up on 30 lbs. The man is dialed in. I like his style. A-Jay

Megabass Dark Sleeper
Fish the 1/2 oz a bit near the end of last season. It's a pretty small bait all things considered. Sort of like the NED rig of swimbaits. Attracted a lot of little fish of several species including brown bass. Expect to throw it around some early this coming spring at some of the mutants here. A small tube works early on them so perhaps the Dark Sleeper could play too. We'll see. A-Jay

Spinnerbait You Use Most Shallow : Tandem or Double Willow ?
Depends on water temp & clarity for me. Which dictates bait retrieve speed. And then that dictates bait type, weight & blade configuration. Clear & or warm water = fast Colored and or cooler water = slow(er) Fun part is, depending on weight, I could use either bait. A-Jay

Spring jig trailers for stained water?
I can get with this as well. and while I don't do much in the way of truly 'stained' water, I do fish water in the below 50 zone both early & late season. The common denominator regarding succeeds for me here, regardless of bait the turbidity, is presentations generally need to be 'slow'. Slow on the fall if it's a jig and any movement (forward) also needs to be slow with plenty of pauses built in. Also a splash of color on otherwise natural patterns can be a trigger for bites. Spike-it worm 'n' chunk paint in orange & chartreuse on a Rage Bug has been secretly killing it for me for the past several seasons. Jig Trailers and swimbaits often get a dab or two of both. Stole it from Zona. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Spike_It_Worm__Chunk_Paint/descpage-SIWC.html Don't tell anyone. A-Jay

Tatsu for Jig Rod
I use the 15 lb for rattlebaits, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and squarebills. The 17 presents jigs and A-Rigs. Only difference for me between the 15 and 17, besides a very slight diameter increase, is the 17 seems to have just a little less stretch. To answer your question. @Catt Yes, I do. A-Jay

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Nice selections ~ And FYI, according to The Bait Monkey Tackle Purchase Doctrine (commonly known as the BMTPD) purchases made from the BR Flea Market don't count. So that's pretty cool. ? A-Jay

Tatsu for Jig Rod
While I am an admitted total Tatsu fan boy and fish 20lb on my jig rod, 17 lb InvisX is a fantastic and cost effective 'substitute'. Bet while fishing it, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. A-Jay

New boat trouble
Consider using where the trailer fenders in the water are as a starting point. While every rig & launch point can be different, starting with the fender right at the waterline is a decent plan. Then you can adjust as needed (in or out) to get the boat to sit properly on the trailer. I launch & recover solo the majority of the time and having the fenders 'just' below the water is the sweet spot. A-Jay

How do tournament officials decide who's in groups A & B ? I've never heard how this is determined. Is it predicated on an anglers position on the leader board ? Is it done alphabetically ? Do they go by height ? Perhaps it's who has the biggest head ? Or do they pull names from a hat ? A-Jay
