  1. But when did he start wearing shoes ~ ? A-Jay
  2. Some fantastic responses/ perspectives in this one so far, many of which I share. Keeping this focused solely on bass fishing: From the total novice to the seasoned Pro- everyone sort of knows not catching fish or getting skunked, is part of the sport. Clearly not the best part but it's going to happen. If we equate the no catch day with failure, that could make it harder to take. It's probably not realistic to call a colossal and monumental skunking, a flaming success but when we understand going into it, it's going to happen, that might help. But the simple truth is – no great success was ever achieved without failure, in this case - a good skunking. It may be one epic skunking, or a prolonged series of skunkings. But, whether we like it or not, epic skunks are a necessary stepping stone to achieving our dreams. In my mind, the silver lining perhaps of a few royal skunkings is they provide me the proper perspective on success. As low as I may get when it happens is as high as I allow myself to be when it doesn't. A-Jay
  3. Nice ~ I would consider it a personal favor if you could please not use it all up before it gets over this way. Thank You in advance signed Mr. Frozen Face A-Jay
  4. Been trying to be patient waiting for some of this action. Either way still AT LEAST 59 Days and a Wake up ~ A-Jay
  5. Growing up my father was a provider, a teacher, a supporter, a role model, and perhaps most importantly, a distant authority figure who was not easily pleased. Everyone on a tv, movie, and now PC & phone screen, is merely entertainment. Knowing the difference is critical. A-Jay
  6. Consider sliding a section of a scent soaked foam ear plug into that tube prior to aquatic deployment. #verytricky A-Jay
  7. I just put the scent on the trailer. Seems to work OK. #megastrike A-Jay
  8. All Day ! A-Jay
  9. I believe both would work. While my line of choice is Seaguar, (InvisX & Tatsu) I get more bites on 10 lb A-Jay
  10. I'm ready. A-Jay
  11. But I bet you knew exactly what I meant . . . #keepingitreal A-Jay
  12. All my drop shot action happens with 10lb braid & almost always in less than 40 feet of H20. Some D/S Bites to me can feel like a 'tick' or even a pretty good 'doink'. But at least 75 % of the time and it may be much higher than that, I never feel the actual take, the bait just gets heavy and or the rod starts to load up a little. I rarely DO anything with the bait (impart No action) so most all of this happens on a semi-tight or even fairly slack line. I like a 7 ft Medium spinning 98% of the time. Over the years my D/S 'Hookset" has increase just a bit as has the weights, baits & hooks I prefer. Hope that helps A-Jay
  13. Still Going. A-Jay
  14. Pretty such the same as any other color. It's good if we think it is. A-Jay
  15. My rig is currently in a state of suspended animation & hibernation in my garage. Meaning I the only time I drive it now is when the roads are no longer covered in groad or when we are completely out of food - Ours & the dogs . . . . . Looking forward getting the cap put on once it comes it (early April) then the bed rug and finally the new set of aftermarket 20's for KO's - winter wheels. Should look pretty sweet. A-Jay
  16. Oh No ~ I don't know how to tell ! Does it make that much of a difference ? I could be in big trouble on this one . . . A-Jay
  17. Thanks J and I like tip heavy. Isn't that strange ? Helps balance out those old POS & rock like Quantum reel I insist on using. A-Jay
  18. Not to throw a bait monkey wrench into all of this but don't forget about the special run TW Green Pumpkin . . . A-Jay
  19. Good Me Too - we'll compare notes. Which way you leaning, Spinning or casting. I'm thinking maybe one of each. #baitmonkeiesunite A-Jay
  20. First Off, I am a St Criox fan. I have & fish several different lines of their rods. I am curious about this one as well and may just snag a couple to satisfy that. BUT This is what I think they did. I think they repurposed Avid blanks, put a cool paint job & name on them and are promoting the heck out of it. "Made in USA". Mixed SCIII & SCVI - really ? As noted the price point seems to match the idea that they are not giving us a whole lot more; at least nothing we can actually see - the components are not anything special. So what's the deal ? I guess we'll find out. If they are not all that & a bag of chips, I'm sending it back. So there's that. A-Jay
  21. You know my 'season' is fairly limited. So It's Open water, I'm on it ! ? A-Jay
  22. San Diego Jam for connecting baits/hooks to FC Uni Knot to connect baits/hooks to Braid or Mono Uni to Uni to join Mono/FC to Braid and a Blood knot to connect mono to mono A-Jay
  23. With water temps in the 40's, topwater for Brown Bass is rarely my 1st, 2nd or even 3rd option. However 50 degrees is sort of the cut off for me but that's often dependent on any current / recent cooling or warming trend. Water that's warming up & through 50, can inspire some surface action. And times when it's swinging the other way can shut it down for me. Prevailing wind direction, speed & duration can also play a role. A-Jay
  24. Sometimes we lose them. But seems I might have been right. And it didn't really take that long either. A-Jay "This may or may not be how 'the pros' do it but if you continue that technique, you're next post might be about the Giant you lost at your feet."
