Me Too ~ It was the 'natural worm' night crawler looking deal. Kept getting hung up fishing from shore though. So I got a pack of un-rigged worms and threaded my first 'Texas Rigged' weightless worm. Don't remember which hook I used, just that it was most likely way too small. Worked better at not getting hung up but twisted the living H E Double Hockey sticks out of the 8 lb Purple Stren I had on my Ted Williams Sears & Roebuck Spin-casting rig. Pickerel kept biting me off in the lily pads too. I was Train Wreck ! A-Jay
  4. These are killer unit's and that price is sweet ! NOW is the time to get one - #itsamusthave A-Jay
  5. Yes I did change them out - But these baits got the Gamakatsu EWG Treble Short Shank Magic Eye #4 's . They are just slightly less 'beefy' than the Mustad KVD offering but still very effective for me. A-Jay
  6. Placed the order this morning ~ Delivery date may be delayed a bit though. I will know more in a couple of weeks. A-Jay
  7. For me there is ~ I use the Shadow Rap in deeper cooler water temps and the Shadow Rap Shad in shallower, slightly warmer water temps. The 'Shadows' are the smallest profile 'Jerkbait' I throw. Haven't had superior success with these yet but really believe the potential is there. A-Jay
  8. Hard to say. May have to just be surprised. A-Jay
  9. You'll see some of this no doubt ~ A-Jay
  10. Squrebills, Lipless & mostly mid-depth baits see the most action for me. Hardly ever deep crank anymore. In fact, I am going to re-home the majority of the deeper baits this winter. Just don't need that many. Some basshead's going to get a good deal. A-Jay
  11. This rig excells for me when I want to penetrate fairly dense medium to heavy hard & soft cover. I will have one of these rigged and ready all season. It does take time to rig as compared to a traditional jig. But I do hang up less and seem to get just as many bites. I especially like it when probing new water. Helps find fish holding cover with less worry about not getting it back. Super versatile as the weight, skirt, plastic and hook type / size can all be customized to meet virtually any situation. 13. I use both spinning & casting gear for jerkbaits but prefer spinning gear for superior distance casted and when I need to cast straight into the wind - sometimes it's both. Either way, spinning geats a light 10lb braid mainline and Casting gear is 10lb FC - InvisX or Tatsu. Additionally, my reference for both types of gear revolves around kinesiology. During jerkbait presentations, spinning gear is mostly a right arm/shoulder deal and with casting gear I am using my left arm to 'work the bait'. By having a couple of each rigged, I can switch back & forth which helps me share & spread out the workload to both sides of my humanness. Pays off after 8-10 hours on the water and especially beneficial during 3 & 4 day pre-spawn marathons when I might not be in 'fishing' shape yet. A-Jay
  14. Nice Bass ~ Congrats ! btw - since you have that pole in the yak, a phone mount like the ones in the links below might at least enable you to take a pic/video holding your catch. https://www.amazon.com/ChargerCity-Microphone-iPhone-Galaxy-Smartphones/dp/B01N97JSTH/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=phone+mount+for+pole&qid=1604795753&sr=8-4 https://www.amazon.com/Action-Mount-Mounting-Bracket-Operable/dp/B01D3EE85W/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=phone+mount+for+pole&qid=1604795753&sr=8-5 A-Jay

  17. Perfect. And at 60 mph you, & your whopper are traveling at 88 feet per second. Meaning, in perfect driving conditions, you can expect to be able to completely stop that minivan in a total of just under 7 seconds (including a 1 second delay for driver reaction) and your total stopping distance would be 302.28 feet, slightly more than a football field in length! Virtually all production vehicles' published road braking performance tests indicate stopping distances from 60 mph that are typically 120 to 140 feet, slightly less than half of the projected safety distances. While the figures are probably achievable, they are not realistic and certainly not average; they tend to be misleading and to those that actually read them, they create a false sense of security. Sort of like published Miles Per Gallon numbers which at this point, I have to believe are only possible with the vehicle off and rolling down a hill, but I digress. So if you you were not just joking (hard to tell) Please stay in St Louis. Thank you A-Jay
  18. I can see that @Catt Just wish I could keep up with ever changing 'rules'. A-Jay
  19. Could be hard to know whether a fish that has been handled (and has an implanted transmitter) is behaving the same as one that has/does not. Making the inference that a basses instincts will have it moving away from any stimuli that it deems unfamiliar, unnatural or threating might not be that much of a stretch Hard for me to call that 'data'. Finally not a surprise to me at least, that bass use flats. I camp out on a at least two for weeks at a time. Sometimes it pays off. Going with "for entertainment purposes only" on this one. A-Jay
  20. Hello and Welcome Bass Resource~ I am on the water tight now in northern Michigan. It's Ugly I tell ya, Ugly ! A-Jay
  21. I was looking at my profile on my phone - the pic is tiny obviously and there's a lot of info right there. Looks Great on the PC. Thanks A-Jay
  22. The updated member profile cover pic page set up has the Profile name and pic centered and blocking the cover page pic. Can I fix or adjust this myself or do I need to load an off-centered pic ? A-Jay
