  1. Agreed ~ Certainly makes me thing twice about pitching any expended plastic at all back into the lake. ? A-Jay
  2. Yup - I think you're right. Perhaps an Ocho ? I've seen a few fish with baits in their throat over the years - But certainly not 4. A-Jay
  3. My son & daughter-in law are visiting this weekend from NJ. Took them out in the Pro-V bass for a late morning ‘boat ride’ on local Lake Menderchuck. It was a sunny somewhat breezy day on the water. Clearly I could not pass up an opportunity to wet a line – at least for a little while anyway. Couple different point and casts later The Z-Man Jackhammer took a few Smallies & a couple of walleye as well. First brown bass had a face full of old plastic baits in its throat. 4 to be exact. Two Stick baits, a curly tail worm on a jig head and a craw bait I’m not familiar on a shakey head. This fish was obviously super skinny and probably pretty hungry. As there was no room for anything to get past the gaggle of plastic to its stomach. We relieved the fish of its ‘problem’ and sent it on its merry way – Didn’t have the video running but my wife snapped a few pics of the whole deal. Still kind of crazy though. ☹️ A-Jay

  11. You have to know I can totally relate to most everything in your post until I experienced Lake Baccarac in Mexico. Those fish haunt me. And I'm referring to the ones I lost. Just Insane. ? A-Jay

Hello Jason and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  14. Nope ~ Moved on. The 10 lb Black was not for me right off the bat and while the 8lb was decent - after a while I started hating the 'white'. Stuck out too much - may not have mattered to the fish but it mattered to me. So mid-spring, that's off as well. Currently running Sufix 832 Braided Line Lo-Vis Green - 10lb on both those rigs. Additionally, I've only got a short time with it, but the Power Pro Maxcuatro Spectra Braided Line Moss Green is on two of my topwater rigs and it's pretty sweet so far A-Jay
  15. I'm right there with you ~ Always my second favorite time of year. Right after Ice Out of course A-Jay

  17. LOL ~ Must be the hair - or the lack of it A-Jay
  18. Yes I use wire and No - I do not consider it a hindrance and neither do the bass I catch apparently. I use the product pictured below. It can be tied directly into your main line and then to your bait. No crimps or other additional terminal tackle needed. Works great. A-Jay
  19. 15 lb. Seaguar InvisX or Tatsu Fluorocarbon A-Jay
  20. Yes ~ I use virtually NO stock hooks at all on any treble hook bait. None. My replacement hook for this and most of my jerkbaits is either: Mustad KVD 1x Strong 2x Short Triple Grip Treble Hook (including the Red one) or Gamakatsu EWG Treble Short Shank Magic Eye Both are quality sharp, durable & reliable trebles for me. This past April that KVD treble (size 4) helped me land this Giant Musky that hit my jerkbait while fishing for smallies. If they can to that, I expect them to handle any bass I may run into. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  22. I fished for 10 straight years from an Old Town Canoe before I purchased the Pro-V bass I fish from now (mostly) So I understand the 'camp' on a spot very well. In fact I use everything I've learned from that style of fishing every trip I make. Timing - it's a big deal. A-Jay
  23. Tough Crowd ~ ? A-Jay Mr Wheeler certainly does make it all look very easy. Always seems to be doing the right thing at the time. A-Jay
  24. You're Welcome ~ But the important thing is that you do seem to be catching quite a few very respectable bass . . . What's the price on that . . . ? Thanks Again for your support - I really do appreciate it. A-Jay
