  1. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  2. OK. That ultra light rod might not be the best for setting your Gamakatsu hook trough the worm and into the bass. Could be a little too light. A-Jay
  3. Hello and welcome to Bass Resource ~ Might be your technique. Perhaps watch a few videos on how to set up a casting reel. That could help. Here's a couple . . https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/cast-adjust-baitcast.html https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/accuracy-baitcast.html A-Jay
  4. Cool. Hope it works out for you. A-Jay
  5. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ What type & size line are you using and what's your rod & reel ? Sweet kicks btw A-Jay
  6. So after a season plus of use, here's the scoop; Pro's ~ First I am glad to report that I have Not needed the product's advertised Impact protection. Nice to know it's there though. The glass does resist water spots and does clean up super easy. There is Zero in the way of image distortion that impedes a clear view. After a couple of weeks, I actually forgot they were on there. My unit's Helix units are not touch screen so I can not evaluate the product's no-finger print claims. Cons ~ And this is a BIGGIE ~ GLARE !!!! With the sun directly hitting the screen, there is some major flash back making the screen difficult to see. Not so much at the console but the my bow unit is flush mounted almost on the deck and at an angle that makes the glare shooting back up into my grill seriously annoying. The company recently put out an Anti-Glare version of the product - but the $58 price point does not have me chomping at the bit to replace them. Sent the company a message today asking about switching what I have for the Anti-glare version and for perhaps a bit of break on the price. So we'll see what's what here if they choose to respond. More to follow A-Jay
  7. Yup ~ Simply link the TM to the Humminbird's existing GPS and call it good. Out the door for $1800. I'd think about. A-Jay
  8. Most of my dogs seem to like it . . . But there's always one . . . A-Jay
  9. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  10. OK ~ So a little truth with a little jest then. While fishing alone, I talk to myself all day. By adding a couple of Go Pro cameras and posting it, somehow I feel less weird. A-Jay
  11. Perhaps get out with another extreme introvert. Then maybe you both could enjoy ignoring each other all day . . . . . A-Jay
  12. A length of wood, handful on nails & a couple 3 dozen stick jackets. A-Jay
  13. Thanks ~ Couldn't really weigh her safely but she had a totally beautiful & full frame that went 48 inches. There's a video of the insanity in this link . . . A-Jay
  14. Man, you are maintaining a very healthy average. Congrats A-Jay
  15. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  16. Thanks, but while I've had some recent success, BR member @Dwight Hottle has caught (and documented) more brown bass over 5, 6 and 7 lbs, than any angler I have first hand knowledge of. And we're talking hundreds here . . . . One could do well by making note of his posts. As for my own exploits, I'm not really doing a whole lot different than most bassheads. I just have to be in the right place and at the right time. Clearly the hard part. And while anglers are looking for a bait that catches trophies, I looking to find out what the trophies are eating. Feeding them what they are looking for has proven fairly effective for me. btw - elephants like peanuts. Just say'in. A-Jay
  17. Same can be said for my checking account. ? A-Jay I hear that ~ And don't think I wasn't more than just pondering those ideas my darn self. But the funds do not support it. #powerballforthewin A-Jay
  18. Yea - I had mentioned in a previous post that I wasn't going to replace these units anything soon - wrong. By the time I get through tearing everything apart and replacing the transducer OR if that isn't the problem - removing the (In dash Mounted) unit - to repair 3 year old technology, might as well up grade the whole deal. Not missing much in the way of 'good fishing' - but I'll need to be back on the water come the first week of August - that's magic topwater time for me. ? A-Jay
  19. Yup ~ Plain old Rebel minnow and a red & white Daredevil Imp. My one two punch for a while. A-Jay
  20. Ordered this morning. A-Jay
  21. Duplicate post ~ Some days are just better than others A-Jay
  22. I change out stock hooks (and most split rings) on most every bait I throw. Rapala baits in particular. Most are not as sharp & definitely not as stout at what I replace them with. I want that. A-Jay
  23. Sweet ~ Can't wait to check it out. A-Jay
  24. Killer Green Bass ! Congrats Hope you had a Go Pro running - at least for a little while A-Jay
  25. Don't know how the heck it happened, but the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T - Transom Transducer for Helix 10 SI GPS at the console is cracked. 2D sonar stopped working and during the 'trouble shooting' phased - Found the damage. Pretty sure there's water intrusion going on. Looks like I'll need to order & install a new one. OR Seriously considering taking this opportunity to upgrade the whole console unit to the newest HELIX 10 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N. Gotta tear into it anyway - might as well end up with the new one when it's all said and done. More to follow . . . A-Jay
