Seat Post Deck Plugs ~
Clearly haven't been on the water with them but my experience says - 'Yea - these are going to be perfect'. They have colors but I think 'stepping' on them all day may wear off the paint eventually. It's a little thing but we know that's where the Madness Lies . . . A-Jay

Best Trailer for a swim jig?
I guess - you've got a TON of available & effective options that may cost less. All depends on what you're looking for the bait to do & be. I prefer my swimjig to be a natural looking & subtle running substitute presentation for a spinnerbait & a vibrating jig but have a little more bulk than say just plastic without the skirt. So I go with stuff like this . . . A-Jay

Seat Post Deck Plugs ~
Been looking at these for a while. Wanted a way to keep water & debris from going down into the seat post (and non-optional ski-post) 'holes' in the Pro-V Bass deck. Had to be durable, fit snuggly but also be removable. Settled on Bob's Machine Shop's Deck Plugs . CNC aircraft-grade aluminum, has watertight system and an O-ring seal, which keeps water out of your dry boxes. Available in two sizes, offered with Powder-coated or brushed aluminum, to ensure long-lasting performance that provide a safe-and-simple solution to the hole left by your pedestal when it is not in use. Available at the web site as well as a few other quality vendors (TW). I'd recommend them. A-Jay https://bobsmachine.com/product/deckplugs-pedestal-seat-plug-0-75-inch-hole/

Quantum Monster Breaks
The internal adjustment dial assists with 'dialing in' the braking system. If you've not accessed this - that could be somewhat problematic. If you have - maybe you're not holding your mouth right ? A-Jay

Can we create a new BR Rule?
Not ready for a rule but perhaps we could start a slush fund. The sole purpose of said fund would be to purchase & anonymously deliver functioning scales to needy BR members. A-Jay

Labeling Your Fishing Rods/Reels With Line Size?
The winter months are rough ~ A little walk down memory lane ~ Apply your logic of rod use to line use, selection & identification, and you'll be there. A-Jay

Labeling Your Fishing Rods/Reels With Line Size?
Perhaps think of fishing line as a tool - certain ones for certain jobs. Now imagine that none of your tools have the sizes marked on them. So all your sockets, wrenches for instance, were just sitting there, looking at you. You can probably guess at the size; sometimes you're close, sometimes not - and every once in a while - you'll nail it. But then you spot this other tool box, that's plum full of tools and they are all marked by size - There's your Huckleberry A-Jay

Counterfeit Seaguar Invizix?
Sweet - I guess. With this new info from Seaguar - seems there is at least a chance, that I may have returned perfectly good line and then re-ordered the exact same thing for 25% more $$$$ Not exactly my proudest moment - but I didn't know. A-Jay

Counterfeit Seaguar Invizix?
For what it's worth - unless they provide me a reason to stop using their products, I'll continue to do so. If it turns out to be a debacle - you'll know right after I do. A-Jay

Counterfeit Seaguar Invizix?
I got the same email from Seaguar - had gone to spam - after seeing this one I went to check it and it was there. I had re-ordered 2 ea 200yds spools of 25lb and another 1000yd spool of 20 lb from TW during the clearance sale last month. The 25lb spools arrived in the factory sealed box I'm accustomed to. The 1000yd spool of 20lb was also in a factory sealed 'package' BUT was NOT on the spool in the "Level wind" condition every previously ordered bulk spool I ordered was. Either way, seems it's the same line. Wonder why they stopped level winding it ? A-Jay

Ultrex 2d vs ultrex mdi
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ While I am not running an Ultrex (still stubbornly rocking the 112 Fortrex) and my 2 Helix 10's are the generation previous to yours (2016) - I'd recommend getting the newest technology available. The current rate of 'upgrades' year to year, seems to make even two year old gear almost obsolete and somewhat incompatible with the newer offerings. Haven't heard a bass guys yet say "I am displeased with this new electronics package - it's too new" Usually it's the other way around and I'm getting there myself. Good Luck. A-Jay

Spools
OK ~ My 'spare spools' are used strictly to allow modifications in line size & type. Never really ventured into spool weights. To be honest, I doubt I could tell the difference between various spool weights anyway. Guess I'm more of a 'chuck & wind' kind of guy. A-Jay

12poundbass's annual winter thread
Active WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT for us. Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected. Air Temps in the teens today, single digits over night & for tomorrow. Wind chill will make it feel quite a bit colder. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the evening. In addition, some reductions to visibility are likely. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause patchy blowing and drifting snow. As noted in previous correspondence ~ "Lake Effect" snow predictions can & do often vary widely ~ A-Jay
