Let's talk about Humminbird 360°...
So there ya go ~ Guess I have considerably more work to do when it comes to 'tuning' my units. As there are many times when I'm not getting the type of view I've seen else where. I attributed it to the new technology where in reality it may be me & not the unit. With the summer set in and most all of my fish 'deep', I've got the opportunity to address it. Let's see if the old guy can figure this %^&* out. A-Jay

A.A.A.D.D. ~ Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
Thank God there’s a name for this disorder. This is how it manifests: I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide that it needs washing. As I start towards the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and noticed that the can is full. So, I decided to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first . . . . . . But then I think, since I’m going to be near the mail box when I take the garbage out anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extra check are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find a can of diet Coke I’ve been drinking. I’m going to look for my checks, but first I push the diet coke aside so that I don’t accidentally knock it over. The diet Coke is getting warm, so I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with my Diet Coke, as vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye…they need water. I put the diet Coke on the counter and discovered my reading glasses that I’ve been searching for all morning. I decided it’d be best to put them back on my desk, but first I’m going to water the flowers. I set my glasses back down on the counter, and fill a container with water when suddenly I spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realize when we go to watch TV, I’ll be looking for the remote, and I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table, so I decided to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I’ll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, and quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. I then head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day: The car isn’t washed. The bills aren’t paid. There is a warm can of Diet Coke on the counter. The flowers don’t have enough water. There’s still only one check in my check book. I can’t find the remote. I can’t find my glasses. And I don’t remember what I did with my car keys. Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day. And I’m really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first, I’ll check my e-mail . . . . Please do me a favor, forward this message to everyone you know because I don’t remember who I’ve sent it to. Don’t Laugh . . If this isn’t you yet, your day is coming ! PS I don’t remember who sent this to me so if it was you . . I’m sorry. ? A-Jay A

KVD 1.5 Square Bill Vs. Others
SK KVD 1.5 & 2.5 are big time producers for me in the squarebill world. But the 6th Sense "crush" line of squarebills (50X, Flat 75X & newer 100X) are also VERY GOOD. https://6thsensefishing.com/collections/crush-50x A-Jay

Let's talk about Humminbird 360°...
I'm working on my second season with the bow / Fortrex mounted 360. I like it and use it quite a bit. The 'image' on my Helix 10 (non-Mega) is decent. Took a while to 'learn' how to tune & read it. An upgrade to a HELIX 10 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G2N would allow me to get the most out of the 360. Still waiting for those Powerball numbers to come in. A-Jay

How to match the hatch on yellow perch
Not really cheaper ~ But in the end, I do get exactly what I want. The other side of that is I have no one else to blame when I don't get bit . . A-Jay

How to match the hatch on yellow perch
Learn how to make your own shirts. Then just pick a head & hook design you like along with the trailer of your choice and you'er good. I fish 'perch as bait' heavy waters, and what I have routinely found is that a bait doesn't 'need to look exactly' like whatever, usually just close is good. And sometimes having more of just one of the primary colors is better. A-Jay

Re-powering the Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass Boat
Hi Bob ~ That 505 lbs is what the 200 Opti that's on there now weighs in at - so no difference there. The Talons are really quite 'light' - the extendable poles are fiberglass, the case is basally plastic and the mounts & internal framing is aluminum - Don't know what the exact weight of each is but I'd put it close to perhaps 55 lbs or so. The Pro-V's composite transom and 96 inch beam seems to be able to support what's there well. And in an interesting turn of events - there is some serious consideration being made to ADDING a hydraulic jack plate to the mix. With the new motor going on, seems like a perfect time. The SeaStar Xtreme Jackplate Hydraulic Jackplate 6” ~ Seems to be where we're headed. http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/SeaStar-XtremeJackplates-DataSheet.pdf Since I'm currently running SeaStar Steering, this one is designed to maximize engine tilt when used with SeaStar steering cylinders. More to follow . . . . A-Jay

Why did you choose Fiberglass or Aluminum for your boat?
Fiberglass vs Aluminum is always a preference - both have Pro's & Cons. For me the Pro's of the Aluminum Hull is selected out weighed the Con's. BTW the weight difference between the two, depending on model & brand, is not as much as it used to be. For instance the newest Fiberglass Ranger Z518 when compared to the Lund 1875 Pro-V Bass for dry hull weight; The Z518 is "75lb" more - 1550 vs 1475. (boats are same length) That's not enough to magically make the Ranger boat 'handle better in the wind & rough water' - it's just not. A-Jay
