  1. If you're not familiar with the technique - do it for a bit and see what works for you. Using 'weight' is The Whole Deal - it's needed to plunge through the cover to get to Big Gooey-Green Goodness below. A-Jay
  2. I have not yet been 'victimized' by the devious kill switch lanyard deal. (but it's coming) However, I know a guy who pulled his boat out of the garage for a summer night trip, without unplugging the charging cord first ~ Dooh . . . Good Times. A-Jay
  3. Hello from up in Otsego County and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Unfortunately, in this neck of the woods, the lakes are all still WAY frozen and buried under 3 feet of snow. So it's going to be a while. Good news for both of is, that as soon as there is open water, there should be plenty of willing participants. Now exactly when that might be ? Your guess is a good as mine. But the first few days of sunny open water, you know where I'll be . . . . . . A-Jay
  4. I'd be Flippin & Pitching all that "mess" along the bank - Big Time. Especially if it has some depth. Read this & then do it ! https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching_fishing.html https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping-matted-weeds.html https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig_bassin.html Good Luck A-Jay
  5. Perhaps not a bait but a technique ~ Drop Shot. I got away from it a bit last season but will be looking to deploy this often deadly presentation more this year. Deep mid-summer will be the time. A-Jay
  6. Admittedly I am a novice in the video / editing deal. I've used the Garmin Virb and most recently GoPro's (Hero 5 Black & Sessions). These newer GoPro units are water proof (do not require a housing) unless you're filming 30 feet down. Definitely prefer the GoPro's over the Garmin as they are beyond easy to use, dependable & capture high quality recordings. Fishing solo quite a bit, really like being able to pull pics from the video. Best of luck with your decision and future endeavors. A-Jay

  8. What's the proper order of use here ? Please tell me you're not using these simultaneously ? A-Jay
  9. I fished this bait for the first time last season. First off, it certainly drew strikes and caught fish for me. Second, it's walking bait for sure, but it's a 'different' sort of bait IMO. Bigger profile (but not heavier), very buoyant and super reactive to the angler movement of the bait. Moves a lot of water and all without needing to move forward very far. Not necessarily the 'easiest' to walk but not the hardest either. Requires a slightly different type (but similar) rod action & cadence to walk it back to the boat. After fishing it side by side with a few of the baits I'm usually throwing, I reached for this one less. Still plan on keeping this one in the the regular 'walker' rotation, but I'm going to need to do more R & D on this one but currently my cast are all bouncing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 13. I'm not sure about 'phasing them out' but the Duo Realis G-Fix Vibration Tungsten Lipless Crankbait has been nothing short of 'magic' for me on smallies (and walleye and pike) when fished like a blade bait in cool to cold water applications. A-Jay
  14. In a rare moment of 'strength' - I managed to thwart the bait monkey's other world;y powers and I did not place an order. Best of Luck on the back order - I'm more inclined to believe that you'll be getting a refund. A-Jay
  15. @Lord Castlereagh Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Can't help you with your questions as I'm not familiar with that area. But nice job defeating Napoleon, however I was sad to hear about your suicide in 1822. That report was somewhat exaggerated apparently. A-Jay

  19. There's a ton of information floating around regarding this topic. IMO - it pays to have 'a decent level of working knowledge' on the subject. It can save one some time, $$$ & effort in the long run. Here some basic info ~ https://www.westmarine.com/WestAdvisor/Selecting-a-Battery-Charger A-Jay

  21. If you haven't already, consider including your cranking battery to your on-board battery charging system. Also, install the T-H Marine Troll-Tamer Trolling Motor Locking System - You'll be glad you did. A-Jay
