  1. Already filed, collected & spent ~ safety items A-Jay
  2. Depending on the bait & the stock hardware it comes with - the Mustad treble replacement is a better hook. As for the red - don't know if it really makes that big a difference or not. I started doing it on crankbaits, jerkaits & topwaters a long time ago - sort of a confidence thing I guess. But it does seem to be somewhat effective when it comes to big smallies & topwater baits. 3. Hello Mark and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  4. I fish a lot for smallmouth is deep clear lakes - if you're doing something similar - the 110 & 110 +1 in the GG Perch OB flavor has been very good. Also the Megabass YUKI ITO POP MAX "Wagin Hasu" as been Killer. Finally, No the red trebles are not stock - But are a highly effective 'up grade'. A-Jay
  5. Try ~ Plug Jacket, Bait Sack, Bait Glove or the a fore mentioned lure wrap. Any of those . . . A-Jay
  6. Really enjoyed this video - Thank you. A-Jay
  7. I have quite a bit of success with the 110, 110 +1 as well as their topwater baits. YMMV A-Jay
  8. Nice Bass ~ Congrats A-Jay
  9. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ You might be able to answer your own question if you are able to determine which rig & deal fits how & where you usually fish as well as which one appeals most to your budget. As for buying a something with 'dings' - could depends on the size & location. Anything on the motor, skeg or hull = bad. Something on the key ring or cup holder might be OK. Good Luck A-Jay
  10. As soon as there's open water (usually 1st week in April or so) and until the hard water season (usually the last week in November), my mission is to go every day. However, I can't realistically pull that off. So between un-fish-able weather and life events, I'm often on the water 2 or 3 days a week. But when the weathers stable & bites on - it's quite a bit more. Mid-summer calls for night ops which is actually a lot easier for me to pull off. As for waters fished, I'm in an area with a ton; most pretty close. So I rotate through them depending on the weather & wind direction - seems to make a difference. A-Jay

  18. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ The average package weight of that rig (boat motor & trailer) WITHOUT gear & gas is over 1,700 lbs. Good news & bad news I guess. Good news ~ congrats on getting a new rig. Bad News ~ the Impala's transmission, suspension & brakes are not at all designed to withstand that type of load. But wait - more good news ~ time for a new truck too . . . . A-Jay
  19. I'll respond here with my results. Once I've been doing it long enough to determine which is the bigger PIA for me; Dealing with the tangled baits or fussing with the little rubber bands. Guess we'll see. A-Jay

  25. These two always get pulled behind a wire trace to prevent Gator Theft. I'll admit that as much as they get bit, if either one were hung up out of reach, I'd have to go swimming. A-Jay
