  1. Wow ~ Sounds like no one got hurt. But I bet that truck driver was pretty upset. Are you covered for whatever damage there was to the truck ? A-Jay
  2. Shoulder injuries are no joke ~ Glad to hear you were able to recover. A-Jay
  3. Last summer (2016) while mowing the grass (of all things), I stepped in a mole hole (didn’t see it) that my dogs had dug out in the back forty. It was on a decent incline. I ended up taking a bit of a tumble and really torqued my left knee pretty good. Never ended up totally out of commission (meaning I could still fish thankfully) but I was otherwise most definitely on the DL and unable to exercise at all. Like many, I’ve had my share of ‘Rehabs’ – never enjoyed any of them. And this particular evolution included a ‘healing’ process that was not progressing like I had hoped; it was considerably slower. Not exactly a spring chicken, I was hopeful it would heal without surgical intervention, but the snail’s pace healing was causing some real concern. Besides seriously hating limping everywhere I went, not being able to really play & bound around with my dogs, having to guard & baby it for so long, I really missed being able to workout ! I eased back into exercising & took it super slow. And little by little, month after month, I began getting more & more range of motion and less & less pain. I’ll admit that it was difficult to remain patient & positive. Well, it’s taken what amounts to just about 15 months – but I’m back ! And it feels pretty darn good. Everyone who has endured a rehab and overcomes the adversity that always accompanies it, knows what it’s like to regain most if not all of one’s abilities to a level previously enjoyed. It’s one of life’s memorable moments. As a final note, during all current & future yard maintenance & landscaping evolutions, I am super focused & maintain a very high level of situational awareness; especially when in the vicinity of mole high traffic areas. Really looking forward to, as well as appreciate the ability to do, each & every workout. That’s my story & I’m sticking to it. A-Jay
  4. Leaves are changing not yet but the ferns are thinking about it - which means I need to be fishing. A-Jay
  5. That'll put a damper on an other wise good day & quick. Sounds like other than lost gear and bruised pride, you're OK. So that's good. Have fun getting some new gear and hope you have drier days ahead. A-Jay
  6. That Global Warming stuff is pretty hit or miss then . . . . .This is August Right ? Hope this sparks a bite - which has been really hit or miss lately A-Jay
  7. Good Guess @Jigfishn10 though ~ someone might get a boo-boo on their hind parts. A-Jay
  8. She's a real Beauty. Looks like she's been around a while. Oh, the stories she could probably tell . . . Congrats ~ ! A-Jay
  9. @Jigfishn10 ~ Yes Sir. Mr Young has been a little cool at the plate although he has been doing a lot of pinch running, not exactly a speed demon ~ but he's better than using a pitcher ! (thank you JF) Holt seems to be getting back to the Brockstar we all know & love - he's clutch, and Dever's needs to easy up on the 'going for the downs' on every swing mantra - K's are too frequent but he's getting his knocks still. He went 1st to 3rd late last night which was big. Looking forward to a Sale Day today. A-Jay
  10. Seemed like the Saux may have gotten in his head a little bit ~ Fister & Pomerantz have come up big recently - still need one more pitcher & HOPR JBJ can come back strong we need his D & that Bat in the 9 hole ~ REALLY lengthens that line up. A-Jay
  11. 2015 GMC Sierra Denali - Love this line of trucks ~ this is my 4th. This one sports the corvette-derived 6.2-liter V8 that churns out 420 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque and drives the Hydra-Matic eight-speed automatic. Loving the Z71 off-road package’s monotube Rancho shocks, hill descent control, transfer case shield. Has the Driver Assist Package which brings Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Assist. It also features magnetic ride control as well as OnStar with 4G LTE and a built-in wi-fi hotspot. Like being able to switch from 2 W , AWD, & 4 L - 4 W H. The rig as a whole is sort of obscene. 12. Interesting take. Seems when bass slash at a bait they are often hooked outside the mouth. On the flipside, when they really eat it, the bait may be side ways, ( I call that one T-Bone), poking straight out of their face like a cigar (jerkbaits do this) or in the case of either smaller baits or Big bass - the bait could be totally engulfed. So I'd say I may change (or not change) something based on the above. As for 'how the hook was set' that seems a little confusing to me. Each individual bass can & will attack a moving bait from different angles and at different speeds. This can & often does result is a variety if different hook positions. I could and usually do perform the same type of hookset with the same bait on say 10 bass. Each resulting in 10 different hook positions. So I'd be hard pressed to say I can know anything more about what just happened other than perhaps, if the bass was slashing at the bait or making more of a commitment by getting the bait in it's mouth. YMMV A-Jay
  13. Yup - Hope Farrell gets all his brain cramps out in the regular season. Can't afford any in the post season. A-Jay

  19. Can't eliminate it but you can try to improve. Take a step back and look at what happened. Review your actions & the choices you made from the tackle, the bait, the cast, the hook set, the fight and the eventual fish loss. Be honest with yourself, accept responsibility for what happened, and figure out what you could have done to correct whatever short comings you discover. That's how you learn from it and most importantly, reduce the chances of it happening again. On the bright side, sometimes we everything right and she still waves Bye-Bye . . . Fished long and hard for this first bite - Lost it . . . My drag was TOO LOOSE ! But ya gotta keep fishing . . . . A-Jay
  20. General purpose casting for me is a 150 size reel sporting a 6.6:1 gear ratio. A-Jay
