Just because some anglers stop fish something - doesn't mean it's still not effective. Real Bassheads know what's up. A-Jay

Lowrance Elite 7 Problem
Look and see if the motor is in any way 'blocking' your transducer. If you're not sure, while on the water, trim your motor all the way up and see what happens to the image. You'll know right away if it is - it will get better on that side. A-Jay

What are the biggest problems you face while fishing?
I'll apologize to the OP for both of us for Hi-Jacking this thread and after this I'll be done here. IMO - and it may not be "right" but you're fighting a losing battle. (especially with younger humans - I know, I used to be one) Effort & Energy focused on a different waterway would mostly likely garner better results All Around. A-Jay

What are the biggest problems you face while fishing?
At the height of the "recreational boating" season here - there are a few lakes I fish that are "full' of users other than anglers. This includes but is not limited to, Water skiers, Jet Skiers, Packs of Kayaks, Paddleboards & my personal favorite - Boats on plane pulling inflatable "couches' full of inebriated humans. (ask me again why I fish a lot at night) I have no problem with it as they have every right to use the water as I do. If I choose to fish them, I will ALWAYS do it Mid-week, and I will be on & off the water before the Rush. The choice to stay longer almost always ends in frustration. If & when you have no choice other than to be there when it's busy, I would not recommend anything other than Avoidance when it comes to other users on the water. Unless you're going to smile & wave, Nothing good can come from it. So again - I say Good Luck A-Jay

Deciding on a new Trolling motor 12v or 24v
Though I'm not familiar with your particular craft or it's configuration, if it's at all possible, I would definitely upgrade to 24v and the beefiest TM your can fit / afford. Have you ever heard, or read where a bass fisherman was unhappy because they had too much trolling motor trust or too much battery life ? ? Me either. A-Jay

What are the biggest problems you face while fishing?
I've run into that a few times. And before I go on, it's important to know the regs for that body of water, meaning is the "ramp" closed or is the "lake Closed" after dark ? Because lakes that have decent daytime fishing but rarely if ever get any night pressure are particularly attractive to me. And with good reason. However I am a law abiding human, so when it's legal to do so - I'll go for "the Over Night Trip". Perhaps have someone "Drop You Off" where you launch prior to sunset and then they depart with the trailer. Then schedule a pick up in the morning some time after the ramp is 'Open'. It's a bit of a hassle no doubt and you're pretty much committed to spending the whole night. But if you're used to fishing an 8 hour daylight trip - this is no different except you're doing when you're usually sleeping - and the fishing is Almost Always better. Totally worth the extra effort. If you've not done something like this I will warn you - it can be addicting. btw - if it works out, I would encourage you to NOT TELL ANYONE - you'll hose yourself.
