  1. As usual the BR membership has offered several effective & experienced based solutions to a very common situation. And in close to 50 years of bass angling, I have never noticed that warmer water softens a bass's mouth tissue. Also, when compared to most braid which has very little, all nylon lines have quite a bit stretch, including Fluorocarbon. A-Jay
  2. This one ? A-Jay
  3. Berkley Trilene Big Game Line mono 15lb TW gets 900 yds for $9 or $1.00 per 100 yds If you by 1lb or 3lb bulk spools it's often even more cost effective. In comparison Seaguar InvizX Fluorocarbon Line 15lb - 200yds $ 25 or $ $12.50 per 100 yds Useing 2 shots of KVD line & lure conditioner before each trip helps all mono out. Best bet is to Change out the top shot BEFORE you think you need to - for $0.50 cents (or less) it's a good piece of mind. A-Jay

  16. Very Nice ~ and I'll predict right now that if you stick with your approach (and we both know you will) your Big Bite will come around the 1st of September (New Moon) ~ A-Jay
  17. Congrats on the nice bass ~ More important to me, if you're willing to share is . . . How (Technique / Bait) & why were you fishing 15 feet off the bottom in 42 feet of water ? That's not a zone many bass anglers routinely target - mostly because unless you're trolling or fishing vertically - it's tough to repeat. A-Jay
  18. Yup ~ Definitely "The Same Thing". I guess time will tell if they perform the same. The bass will tell you. A-Jay
  19. This product is not thick and because the material can be easily knotted, there is not need for a big ugly clip. The 13lb & 20lb will eliminate your pickerel bite offs while not hindering a bait's "action". As for bass shying away from leaders - Umbrella Rigs seem to work OK and there's wires, clips & swivels all over that thing. A-Jay
  20. Ok ~ I'll play. For me, Deep & Shallow are terms that are relative to each particular body of water, the season, the water temp & clarity. In the early days of my bass fishing I never fished "deep" - ever. Still caught some but mostly spring & fall, very early & late in the day or at night when bass are typically shallow. As my time on the water & experience increased so did my confidence to start fishing off the bank. Before "electronics" (I know right), Deep weedlines & Off shore humps that were more or less visible from the surface accounted for the majority of my not on the bank bassing. Several years and quite a bit of time on the water later, except for early & late in the season, I rarely fish visible shallow shoreline cover choosing instead to fish a little deeper on lake structure. Finding cover on the right structure is like striking gold. A-Jay
